Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

On draught. Spring onion, cat’s piss and hops which are high on alpha acids in the nose. Smooth. Dry finish which is a little short.

Bottle at Tilt, Oslo. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of hops and malt with citrus and spices. A bit sweet, but fairly well balanced with the bitterness. Medium body. Nice and fruity IPA with a slightly dry and bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours an unclear dark golden, with an airy, quickly receding head. A light tropical aroma before the bitter, grapefruity hops kick in. Full creamy body. Flavour is orange peel and grape fruit, with some burned malts and notes of lots of sweet, tropical fruits. Bitter grapefruity finish, with a really long aftertaste.

Bottle, from my new favorite Vinmonopol. Hazy orange golden amber color, small head. Fresh aroma of citrusy hops, an almost strawberry-like fruity aroma, and a big malty aroma to top it off. Very fruity hop flavors, lots of malt backbone, quite bitter! There’s a quite prominent malt flavor here which I can only assume is the rye (this is my first rye IPA). Pretty bitter, almost too much for me! Pairs very well with my favorite cheese (if you’ve read my ratings before, you guessed it): parmesan. Overall fruity hop flavors, but I’m having trouble pinpointing them. It’s just a whole lotta hops! Full body. Rather heavy stuff! Interesting paired with milk chocolate.

Trevlig humledoft Fin fruktighet och en god balans mot beskan. Lång eftersmak, lite jordig malt som skapar en fin balans.

0,33 L bottle from Vinmonoplet. Small creamy beige head. Clear, deep amber colored body. Oily hops and resin hit the nose at first. Then some mellowing fruit tones and a scent of bready malts. Taste is seriously bitter. Clean and tight, piny, zesty, resinous and kind of minty. Bready malts and peppery caramel notes, too. Slick texture. Medium full. Lingering bitterness in the finish. Straightforward and well crafted. Solid stuff!
