COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

Fruit, citrus, pine and a hint of caramel and grain. Hazy golden with a white head. Medium sweet and heavy bitter. Medium to full body with a average carbonation. Bitter and dry finish. Overall this is a really nice IPA, lots of bitterness, but still quite balanced.

I believe this is a beer that is based on a winning beer brewed for the Lervig homebrewing competition last year. The winning brewer is one part of cuckoo brewers ABC Brewing, and is well know in Norwegian homebrewing circles. He is known for adding Chinook in all his beers, and looking at the bottle there are some here too (together with Citra and Centennial). Pouring there is a lot of foam, but its not persistant. The aroma of this beer leaves no doubt, this is an IPA. Even though the receipt that won the competition was for a pale ale. The hop aromas are of pine and forrests. Tasting this is a bitter beer, lots of hops, but there is also a spiciness from the rye.

Amazing smell and extreme hops makes it interesting. Drank it out the bottle due to sheer laziness. probably a mistake

Cloudy light tan. Bubbly head. Aroma is earthy, the rye shows through, as do caramelly malt character, strong beer. Full body, a bit of chewiness, good balance.

Hærlig lukt av humle, godt skum, uklar lett rusten, flott munnfølelse en deilig IPA med et flott rug preg.

I like. Quite sweet and malty but plenty of bitterness from the hops too - if that makes sense. Orange and grapefruit.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber body with a medium white head. Lacing. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, pine and oatmeal. The taste is bitter and boozy with fruity and grassy notes. I might have held on to this for too long, because it feels like the hops have lost their "edge".
