3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours hazy red-brown with a thin off-white head and low carbonation. The nose is brown bread, brown sugar, earth and sweet caramel. The taste is brown sugar, light spice, ginger, clove, earth, caramel and raisin, with sweet caramel finish. Alcohol is well hidden, yet the beer is surprisingly thin. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Low but lasting creamy dense off-white head. Hazy orange red brown body. Lovely roasted malt choccolate caramel cream sweet aroma. Would have loved to be able to smell the raisins, but so sorry mates I cannot do that. Slightly peppery choccolate caramel hoppy flavor with a high carbonation and a long bitter sweet aftertaste. A hint of alcohol but not too overwhelming.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark amber orange colour with a small head. Aroma of rum, raisins, orange zest and sugary sweetness. Rather rich flavour of sweet raisins, quite subtle alcohol notes, orange zest, spices and plums. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and low-ish carbonation. Alcohol warms nicely. This would work quite nicely as a dessert beer.

Aroma is malty with lots of toffee and hints of berries. Also some vanilla and baking stuff. Flavour has raspberries, some toffee, malty notes and caramel. Some fruity hops occur after a sip. Also some yeasty and worty notes at the middle of the glass. Quite odd and somewhat messy, but for some reason I seem to enjoy this.
