COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fyldig, rik smak fra ristede karamellmalter, utsøkt britisk humle og rosiner - ingredienser som sammen med vann og gjær også skaper den rødlige gløden og det gyldne skummet. Fyr i peisen, rull ut bjørneskinnet, hell i glasset. La Lervig Winter Ale med sine 8,3 alkoholprosenter varme opp vinterkvelden.

On tap at Cardinals Juleølsymposium 2010. Pours hazy dark amber with a thin white layer of bubbles. Aroma is weak sweet malty caramel, even some toffee. Taste is more of the same, slightly on the sweet side, but not overdoing it. Weak hops. Easy drinkable.

Malty aroma with strong notes of raisins and other dark fruits, brown candi sugar and treacle. Warming mouthfeel. Flavour of dark dried fruits, brown sugar, malts and alcohol. Moderate but noticeable hops in the finish. Original rating: On tap at Cardinal’s Juleølsymposium. Matured with raisins. Dark brown colour, moderate head. Aroma of brown malts, brown sugar and raisins. The flavour has the same elements, but is not too sweet. Moderate hops, very drinkable.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 14.08.16, from Alko, 20131108) The beer poured brown. quite clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, treacle and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramel, sweetness, hint of hops and low bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. The strong malty body is a sign for aging potential and aging may tune down the sweetness which was a bit too intense now.
