3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB Summer 2016, large sample. Cloudy brown color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, spicy yeast, raisin, slight fruity. The raisins make it smell like an aged belgian dark, although it’s not aged at all, seeing the BB date. Slight sweet in taste, lots of raisin again. Aroma is a bit more complex, but flavor is all about raisins. Interesting stuff, though a bit one-dimensional.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 14.08.16, from Alko, 20131108) The beer poured brown. quite clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, treacle and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramel, sweetness, hint of hops and low bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. The strong malty body is a sign for aging potential and aging may tune down the sweetness which was a bit too intense now.
