Strong beer! 8,3% I really like the hint of raisins here. Easy to drink, and very good with spicy food or snacks.

Bottle at the 1st CBC Sunday Tasting. Thanks to the Cad. Pours a gorgeous amber with a small, white head. Winter berry and spice aroma. Medium to big sweet flavor, just subtle raisins, bit of caramel. Some golden raisins. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Warm finish, sweet berries, some light raisin notes, toasted sugar. Pretty sold beer this.

Bottle thanks to Rune. Cheers my friend. Hazy brown russet colour with lasting creamy beige head. Very malty aroma with some raisins on the aroma. Middle of summer but hey never stopped me drinking a winter beer. It is a really malty beer. It does remind me of something like Youngs Winter Warmer when I first ever had it. I like it. Always liked winter warmers. Balanced and some hop bite on the finish. Really very good I thought. Tasty toffee and malt. Really enjoyable. Good hoppy bite on the finish. Wow, this is a good beer. Hmm, good winter warmer.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2010 Rerate, 330 ml bottle, ABV 8.3%, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger: Copper colour, big to moderate cream-coloured head. Malty aroma with strong notes of raisins and other dark fruits, brown candi sugar and treacle. Warming mouthfeel. Flavour of dark dried fruits, brown sugar, malts and alcohol. Moderate but noticeable hops in the finish. Original rating: On tap at Cardinal’s Juleølsymposium. Matured with raisins. Dark brown colour, moderate head. Aroma of brown malts, brown sugar and raisins. The flavour has the same elements, but is not too sweet. Moderate hops, very drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown with a small white head that recedes quickly. Murky. Nose is caramel, nutmeg, pumpkin, ginger and leather. Taste is underwhelming. Not as sharp as the nose would imply. However. It is sweet with a decent bitter presence. Mouthfeel is soft, smooth and creamy. Light body and great finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with Daje. Deep red, thin white head. Smells of raisins, nuts, ’fusel’ and honey. Taste is sweet and dry. Much malt flavor. Reminds me of danish pastry with macrone fill. Feel is a bit thick and sweetish. Some bitterness in finish. This is an excelent companion when sitting by the fire-

clear amber, smooth beige head.
very nice hoppy , dry malty and caramelly aroma. slightly spicy.
flavor is malty, caramelly,dry.. faint spices, the dryness and the hops play very well together, Very tasty dry malty beer. Hops go a long way towards handling the quite sweet malty flavor. alc. well hidden and matches the beer well.
