COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fyldig, rik smak fra ristede karamellmalter, utsøkt britisk humle og rosiner - ingredienser som sammen med vann og gjær også skaper den rødlige gløden og det gyldne skummet. Fyr i peisen, rull ut bjørneskinnet, hell i glasset. La Lervig Winter Ale med sine 8,3 alkoholprosenter varme opp vinterkvelden.

Bottle. Deep amber body with a small, quickly disappearing off-white head. Nose is caramel, raisins, booze and a bit of bread yeast, which I find kinda strange. Taste is strong notes of caramel, with some tones of burnt sugar, roasted malts, alcohol and hints of raisins. Smooth mouthfeel. Burnt sugar again in the aftertaste, flanked by some boozy notes. Well integrated flavor profile, if not too overtly exciting all in all. A nice winter warmer, and a pretty drinkable - and likable - beer. Best one from Lervig that I’ve had so far.

Scopey (3252) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2011
Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours hazy red-brown with a thin off-white head and low carbonation. The nose is brown bread, brown sugar, earth and sweet caramel. The taste is brown sugar, light spice, ginger, clove, earth, caramel and raisin, with sweet caramel finish. Alcohol is well hidden, yet the beer is surprisingly thin. Not bad.

Flaske fra Polet og på Cardinal, jan-12: Har likt denne hver gang jeg har prøvd. Interessant med den utpregede rosinsmaken. Håper de lager en ny batch av denne.

Dark amber color; medium sized compact head. Some malt aroma, with light chocolate and yeast. Medium bodied, the mouthfeel is quite round; caramel flavor, with light chocolate and traces of liquorice; the bitterness is quite high, although unnoticed. Pleasant.

Medium beige head. Lovely deep reddish amber body with carbonation. Sugary raisiny caramelly aroma with earthy fruity notes. Dry-sweet earthy roasty papery taste with caramelly raisiny notes. Mid-to-full body. Dry-sweet soy sauce and raisins aftertaste with earthy spicy buttery notes. Very nice, and quite unusual. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly.)

It’s still winter with a lot of snow in the extreme north where I live, so a warming winter beer seems just appropriate on a Saturday eve. 330ml bottle, bb.31.09.15, bought at Vinmonopolet Oslo City. Pours a cloudy, apricot coloured body topped by firm amount of beige, foam that stays well and leaves fragile lacing at the glassware. Smell of sweet malts and dried fruits. Plums and raisin in flavour together with earthy malts followed by a ending containing lighter notes of yeasty fruitiness along with alcohol warmth. Well bodied, but aroma and flavour feels rather subdued (Tromsø, 16.04.2011).

33cl, new exclusive Norwegian brew Anno 2010, with raisins, thx to Jeppe!, complex brew, spicy/malty and slightly bitter/sweet, balanced, cloudy, small head, nice Winter brew, yet expensive!
