It is indeed the same beer base as Lervig Konrads Stout (an imperial stout), but Farmhouse Stout is fermented with saison yeast in stead of American ale yeast. It is considerably drier than Konrads stout (which also is one of my favourite Norwegian beers), the alcohol is well hidden, and it is dangerously drinkable for its strength. On tap @CBC13. Near black with big tan head. Aroma is faint, roasted and malty with some fruit. Taste is is viscose, malty, roasted, dark fruits, coffee with a nice finishing bitterness.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chili and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of chili and roasted malt.

Tap @ CBC 2013. Pours light red black with a large, creamy, beige head. Aroma has chocolate, light pepper, peach. Medium carbonation, nice dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has chocolate, plums, pepper, good dryness. Nice.

Draught at CBC 2013. Pitch black - brown head. Burned malts, light funky notes, herbal, ok bitterness, dark chocolate, smokey notes, yeasty notes, coffee. Nice.

CBC. Black with a lasting brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 030513

Tap @ CBC. Black with medium foamy light brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, little liquorice, hop, spices and medium bitter.

Sample @ CBC. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, coffee and hops. Nice dry finish.

Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, licorice, some light berries, chocolate and light alcohol. The aftertaste was long. A tasty one.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Aroma is roasted malty. Overripe fruity and roasted malty. Thick malty, fruity, light metallic. Bitter and roasted.
