3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
4.7%ABV. Red Ale.
Tapped out a nut brown Amber. 18ºSRM.
Nose has some very pleasant caramel and toffee aromas. Rich aroma of roasting chestnuts. The nose is all about the grain bill and much less so about the hops.
Mouthfeel is soapy with good carbonation. There is an very brief medium sourness like in a fresh lemonade, then some nice wholemeal wheat bread, toasted barley bread, toffee, graham cracker and nutty flavors. The hops are vegetal and spicy with pepper, mint and Thai basil coming out quite nicely. Makes me think this might be a good pairing to do with Vietnamese pho.
Finish is brief-medium with some hop bitterness.
Very good effort. I actually enjoyed this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank.
Appearance - deep amber to orange with a decent head.
Nose - orange pine and cake.
Taste - orange more cake and some pith too.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - good could’ve taken a wee bit more bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark red body with a thin white lacing. Smells like toffee, nuts, burnt sugar and leather. Wow! excellent dry hoppy bitterness and a really complex flavour of grapefruit, caramel, cookiedough, and a fake amber malt. Really likeable beer that works superwell after a long day at work. Good stuff!

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl, bottle conditioned. Lovely amber colour, thin beige head, some lacing. Aroma is malt, bread and caramel. Taste is more citrusy than the aroma suggests, it’s fruity and hoppy. The three hop varieties really works nice together. Mouthfeel is well carbonated and dry.
