2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from GBBF 2012. One of the great things about GBBF is that you get to drink beers that you wouldn’t normally. Come armed with £100 and buy as many bottles of foreign muck as possible. Clear amber with thick cream head. Leafy piney hoppy aroma. Grapefruit on aroma too. Oooh now there is something in the flavour that isn’t quite right. Piney bitter hops yes. It’s not quite puke, but it’s something cereally and not quite right. sago or tapioca that kind of thing you had boiled as a child at school that makes me shake in my boots. Hops are good, body and malts leave something to be desired.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, from a trade with Cunningham. Clear golden/amber beer with a small offwhite head. Hoppy milky aroma, perfume, grass, toffee, pine needles, grapefruit notes, roasted, some caramel. Hoppy fruity flavor, grassy, metallic, some dill. A few flaws, I do prefer the aroma from this beer. Decent though, with a hoppy metallic finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a trade with Palme. Amber with a rather small head. American hops full-on: citrus, peach, floral, grassy and earthy, some resin. Also some toasted malt detectable. Very pleasant aroma. Sharp and dry taste, refreshing and made for fast drinking. Strong, grassy-earthy bitterness, intense on the palate because of the light maltiness. Somewhat like a US-ale version of a German pils, at least I felt it that way. Unfortunately for this kind of beer the carbonation was rather low. Still a good beer though, bordering on very good.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small white head. Sweet, citrusy hop aroma with malty and wooden notes in the back. Flavour is sweetish, fruity, bitter and hoppy, and feels a bit watery. Malt in the background, which becomes more outspoken as it warms, and takes on a caramel note. Further warming reveals a metallic note and slight notes of cardboard. Dry, bitter finish, the bitterness being a wee bit unpleasant. Lingering light alcohol burn, which is kind of odd considering the alcohol %. Overall okay, but nothing special and with a few minor flaws. 28.07.12.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium frothy off-white head. A bit carbonated. Fruity aroma with grapefruit, fruity hops, grains and tropical fruit. Fruity hops also in the flavour along with wood and some berry sourness, and ends a bit dry. Slick mouthfeel. Bitterness = medium+. Both a tasteful and aromatic beer, but maybe too much focus on the hops.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hopfiger, sehr getreidiger Beginn. Im Verlauf oxidiert wirkend, recht langweilig. Herb-getreidiger Abgang. Nicht gerade spannend. 12/8/9/8//8
