Pale Ale på ekte amerikansk vis. Florlett, fruktig og forførende friskt. You might get lucky, Jack!

An almost cloudy, slightly orange yellow beer with a quite weak and almost disappering and white head. Aroma is pleasant, tropical fruits, mangos, gooseberries, balanced and weak fructose, and some pine forest. Taste is quite dry and biscuity, also tropical fruits, medium and piney bitterness. The aftertaste is medium lenght, dry and biscuity with some pine needles. Light+ bodied, but that is not bothering at all. Nice and light Pale Ale with the great tropical nuancees.

Buona.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko/heavy (thanks!). Comes as Lucky Jack American Pale Ale. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, pleasant hoppy citrusy nose. Moderate malty, quite hoppy and fruity lemony taste with hint of spices. Rather bitter finish. Nice one.

Another one from abemorsten (thanks!). Poured a nice amber body with a tiny white head. Slightly heavy malty taste with some aroma hops. Nice caramelly malty taste, somewhat piney/lemony from the hop. Freash apple notes near the finish? Nice one.

0.33 l bottle from abemorsten, thanks! It poured clear copper body with small head. Weak citrus malt aroma, also somewhat woody and toasted. Flavor was lightly bitter, toasted malts, raisins, biscuit. Notable citrus hops as well. Medium in body with very nice and log bittersweet finish. Almost like a mild IPA. Although nothing extraordinary, it was nice refreshment after mostly awful beers of the session.

Buona come america pale ale ma mi aspettavo meglio, soprattutto dal sapore, a meta tra un’ipa e un’apa.

In short: A very oily and resinous citrusy pale ale. Meh
How: Bottle 330ml at Brasserie Posten, Geiranger Norway
The look: Clear shining dark golden body topped by persistent small beige head
In long: Nose is resinous citrusy hops over caramelized malts. Taste is again resinous hops and caramelized malts. The resinous bitterness is not very refreshing, no fresh fruity flavors to be found here and certainly no tartness. The malt bill is also very very oily and when adding all the resinous hops oil, the end result is probably the most oily pale ale I’ve ever had. Carbonation was on the soft side. This was relatively tasty but one bottle was enough. Tasty but not refreshing enough for a pale ale, and just too oily-sticky. Disappointing, and I used to think coming to ratebeer to complain about a disappointing beer was therapeutic, but after coming here a few thousand times to complain I’m starting to think there’s a thin line between “this is my therapy” and “I need a therapy”.
