Lucky Jack is just about the perfect beer for summer. Grapefruit, tropical fruits and citrus flavours from the Citra and Amarillo hops are apparent in the aroma and taste. But we decided to go one step further and actually make it the perfect summer beer. Beginning this spring (2016), we’re adding grapefruit juice to some of our Lucky Jack tanks. Now you can have all the flavour of Lucky Jack with a twist: a perfect medley of citrus from the addition of grapefruit juice. It’s beautifully refershing on a hot summer day on the deck or at the beach.

Malts: Pilsner and Caramel.
Hops. Perle, Citra, Amarillo, Chinook.

Aroma: grapfruit and citrus.

Food pairings: BBQ chicken and ribs, tortillas and guachamole, fresh fruit salad.Inspirert av iddisen Senior, Stavanger Norway.

Aroma: flowers, resin, some grass. Appearance: clear amber, medium, creamy white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: hops intensify, getting very bitter in the long finish. Overall: OK APA, but nothing too exciting. Pint at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green.

Tap at Cardinal. Tanned, creamy head on a slightly hazy golden body. Inviting citrus, floral, perfume aroma. Excellent lacing as the beer goes down. Acidic metallic at first but quickly the malts and hops takes over. Light sweet and bitter with grassy notes. Light to medium body. Rich carbonation. Dry finish. Widely available on bottle in the Stavanger area, and at bars in Oslo. Even my closest grocery store has it, hence this has become my standard drink, when not rating.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours amber in color with a foamy whitish head. Maltyness, some fudge and hints of citrus in aroma. Floral notes and light bready maltyness in taste. Feels quite fresh.

Can. Amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of grapefruit, kumquats, lime leaf, pine. Light bodied, highish carbonation. Not a lot going on except for hops - a little hay and stone fruit I guess. Plenty of citrus, some herbal notes, resinous and fairly bitter at the end.

1/3L btl, from Eurospar Langnes Tromsø. Pours a nice white bumpy head on a straw yellow body. Scents of peaches and hops, grass, meadow. Taste of bitter leaves, touch of peach, lots of hops. Mouthfeel with distinct bitterness, balanced alright. Spicy notes to the end. Smoke and barbecue. Recommendable to all who can enjoy an ale with distinct bitterness.

Tap at SF bar. Hazy golden with a white head. Spicy hop aroma with some citrus. Taste is quite spicy and peppery, some citrus and a yeasty earthy finish. Smooth with a lingering not unpleasant yeasty finish. Ok

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a huge white head. Very low carbonation. Aroma of soft malts and orange. Flavour of peaches and cream. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Well balanced and easy drinking.

bartlebier (3347) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 20, 2013
33cl bottle from Mondial de la Bière, Mulhouse, who must have struck a few interesting bulk import deals... Inviting fresh and fruity citrus & grapefruit hop aroma, turning into harsher Chinook pine in the taste, with a light APA body barely able to sustain that hop force. Easy drinking, with a slightly conflicted twist some might find more appealing.

Aroma of pale malt, tropical fruits, floral notes, some pine, hops. Flavour is nicely bitter. Nice APA, aroma is a bit thin but the potent bitter flavour makes up for it.
