3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sigmund (4166) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 1, 2010
330 ml bottle (filtered and pasteurised), also sampled unpasteurised on tap, both courtesy of Lervig brewery. Deep golden colour, big to moderate white head. Very nice aroma of American hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Citra - also dry hopped), notes of orange marmalade and pine. Refreshing flavour with distinct hoppy notes throughout, citric and resinous notes, not too sweet, bitter finish. Light bodied, ideally this should have been a beer around 5.6% ABV, but then you have the Norwegian limit at 4.75% ABV for beers sold in grocery stores, making it necessary to compromise. Still, this is an enjoyable beer as it is.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2010
Bottle, thx to tarjei. It pours a sparkling golden body, slightly hazy, and with a finger-thick, creamy, off-white head on top. Nice lacings. The aroma has a good dash of peaches, along with citrus and pine cones. The malts are quite subdued. Flavorwise it’s on the bitter, hoppy side, with peaches, lemon notes and hints of pine cones. A sweetness from the pale malts blends in and gives body. Smooth on the palate, and it slides down dangerously easily. A bit metallic in the end, but mostly bitter and fruity. Overall, a really nice one, both tasteful and easy drinking. Definitely a beer that should be available all over the country. 101231

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 07.08.2013
Fruity aroma with lots of hops, some gooseberry bush, caramel and hints of hay. Flavour has exotic fruits, some gooseberry bush, caramel and hints of biscuits. Refreshing and crisp – exactly the way I want my APA. Feels slightly watery though, but what can you do with 4,7% ABV?
