on tap at brewpub. almost clear copper, red tint, with a decent off-white head, little retention and lacing. spices, yeast, candi and sugary toasted malts, oranges, citrus fruitiness, fresh malts. slightly boozy. average carbonation, some sweetness - a tad too much, medium body, decent spicy-grassy-citrusy finish. almost a dubbel. ok.

Enjoyed on tap at the Toronto brewpub location. Pours cloudy fruity orange body with some white head. Initially yeasty with some sugar and some funky aroma. Tad above average mouthfeel. Taste of caramel, ginger, sugar, hops, cardamon, overall it is tasty and drinkable. Seems to be an upgraded version of what was around in Montreal prior to it. 2011 version has yeast and hop in the finish, spices ginger and anise.Thick lace and above average mouthfeel, lots of rich malting.

Called ’Holiday Ale’ at The 3 Brewers Toronto
500ml draught
7.2% ABV
I tried this beer on January 13, 2011 on draught at "The 3 Brewers" Brewpub in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent brownish red with a foamy light tan coloured that lasted. The aroma was sweet caramel malt, candy sugar, yeast, and spices. The mouthfeel was full bodied with mnedium carbonation. The flavour was sweet with maltiness and sugar, and spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. I really enjoyed this beer.

(hiver 2006-07)

On tap at the .... well... lets says brewpub. Drk amber color, luttle head, malty aroma, taste of cinnamon, vanilla and hops. Sweet but still a lot more complex than I expected! The first beer I really enjoyed at a 3 brasseurs since a long time.

Aroma is spiced malts, with Christmas smells. Did they grind up a Christmas cake and throw it into the mix? Has little head and an okay amber body. Flavour is amber malts and mistletoe. Okay finish. This one just isn’t quite working, I don’t like the floral bent on it.

[3498-20101201] Tap. Spiced aroma has hints of whiskey. Hazy, dark amber orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Spiced grains flavour has lingering malt and hints of spiced pepper and a little ginger comes out later. Medium-full body. Pleasant.

2010-12-01. Lightly hazy brown body, modest beige head fades. 3+ Flavour is fairly bitter up front but from the hops and the spice character. Sweet malt middle with a spicy sweet malt finish that has touches of caramel. Spice that comes to mind is nutmeg or all spice but I am not sure if that is correct. Mild yeasty undertones throughout. Sharp spice in the aroma of a yeasty core, mild malt. Smooth average palate suits the beer nicely, fairly carbonated. Enjoyable, but the spice profile is just a bit sharp to drink more than a glass of it in a sitting. On tap at L3B as "Holiday Ale", Toronto

Toronto location. On tap. Aroma is slightly spiced, candied malt, clear ruby, tiny tan head. Taste is mild malt, spice is gone? Light bodied, sweet, things not expected of a "Christmas Ale." Light bitterness, burning aftertaste. Ordinary.

Drank at the Old Montreal brewpub, on tap (20 oz) December 20, 2009. Simple aroma of malted barley, a little spicy. Taste of malted barley with a touch of citrus, with a cereal bitter aftertaste. It’s a pretty simple beer, but not a Christmas one!
