Hazy red pour, with a light pink head. Aroma of artificial berries, and sweet almost aspertame like sugars. Light body, fizzy carb. Sweet, almost cloying finish with a slight tart edge, meh. The artificial barry flavor turns me right off.

Well... the first taster glass brought to our table had dead fruit flies floating on the top. The waitress graciously took it back for a different one, but perhaps that clouded my initial impressions (that, and the fact that she didn’t offer to comp the taster or take any amount off our final bill). But I have to say, the beer was fresh tasting and crisp, with a strong raspberry flavor without being cloyingly sweet as can sometimes occur with fruit beers like this.

Pours a hazy pink in colour. Aroma of cheap eastern european deli cherry juice. Taste like cherry soda. Lively carbonation. Should we call it the Fruli light?

(Rating #5731)

On tap at the Ottawa brewpub. Hazy peach body with a thin white foamy/creamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with raspberry and some yeasty hints. Taste is dominated by malty and raspberry flavors. It carries some hoppy and bready notes. Ends with a short, slightly sour finish. Ordinary, without being bad.

A hazed burgundy red ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fragrant raspberry jam with light acidity, very smooth. In mouth, a nice fruity malt with raspberry jam, light tartness, refreshing. On tap at Ottawa location.

On tap at Ste-Foy restaurant. A nice opaque purple-pinkish with a pinkish white head. Aroma is...raspberry, some tartness. Flavor is mostly yeast, wheat and raspberry. Finish is tart, a touch herbal. Medium body, strong carbonation. Exactly what you would expect from such a summer beer - refreshing and accessible.

DuffMan (9610) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 28, 2013
On tap at the Vieux Montreal location. Light pink, clear, with a fading white head. Aroma is raspberries, a bit a cream, kind of shampooish. Tart raspberry fruit flavour with light underlying malt, dry finish with minimal bitterness.
