COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This March beer (Equinox) is the latest incarnation of the beers brewed in Northern France in the 14th century. Since the only source of cold back then was nature itself, winter beers were stored all through the winter months (for 80 days, to be precise). This long maturation process gave the beer greater clarity than traditiona...l beers, as well as the smoothness it is known for. Its colour is halfway between blond and amber, and it is brewed from barley and wheat malts. The blend of Czech and German hops (spicy) gives it a rich, flowery aroma. Alcohol content: 6.2% Cheers!

March 19, 2011 - on draught at 3 Brewers, Toronto. Hazy amber-gold with a solid thick-looking creamy off-white head (4-). Smells yeasty, sweet (the house yeast, reasonably if simply Belgian), a little spicy and floral, mostly fruity, mild alcohol. Pungent aroma, fruity and floral, a bit like their triple but with less alcohol and more grain character - definitely hoppier, oddly grassy/herbal/pungent, like fresh hops air-dried. Fairly thick, strong carbonation, surprisingly astringent, with a long-ish pungent finish, but a sweet fruity aftertaste. Solid - one of their better drinking "specials"

UPDATED: APR 10, 2011 [3658-20110323] Tap. Zesty orange yeast pasta peel aroma. Murky, dark orange brownish body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter orange yeast flavour has a chunky bite to it. Medium-full body. I agree with our barmates: this is probably their best offering - certainly the best so far, anyway. (7/4/8+/4/16) 3.9-

Draught at the brewpub, Toronto. Pours a cloudy amber-copper with an average size frothy white head. Aroma is malty, fruity, flowery and herbal. Flavour is a departure for these guys, in a good way. There’s caramel malt, yeast, herbs, spices and floral notes. A light but long bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good -- their best beer yet? In the top 3 that I’ve had for sure.

On-tap at the Toronto brewpub. Faint yellow coloured body with one-quarter inch of head. Aromas a tad of wheat, yeast and some malt. The taste is initially sweet and again a little wheat, yeast and malty. Initially on the sweet side, the hops show themselves in the finish to give a light bitterness. Average mouthfeel, though overcarbonated.

Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied, soft wheat character. Slight cellar feel. Light hop notes behind. Sweet top accented by candy character. Finish was slightly more dry. Fine.

2011-03-24. Hazy orange-amber body, modest white head. 3+ Pleasant aroma, sweet orange citrus, light yeast and a mild spice character. 7+ Flavour is similar, fairly bitter, mild orange citrus touches, mild yeast and a light peppery spice that grows a bit as the glass goes on. Finishes with a sweet fruit yeast character and peppery spice. 7+ Smooth average bodied palate. Pretty enjoyable, the best I have had from them for sure. Draft at the brewpub, Toronto

On tap at the brewpub in Crescent St. The special. Pours a clear copper color with a sticky medium white head. The aroma is a sweet hoppy fruitiness, some bitter notes. The flavor is odd; initially caramel and lots of spices, but a odd bitterness develops, mixed with loads of spices, not my thing.
