jackstraw111 (10), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Dec 17, 2006 On tap at the brewery. A reasonable porter, but much thinner mouthfeel than many of its American counterparts. Tasty without the traditional porter sweetness. A hint of smoke. Could use a bit more bittering, but overall, a reasonable brew. tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 11, 2005 Updated: Feb 12, 2005Moderate smoked malt aroma with some roastiness. Opaque dark brown with a finger of tan/brown head that recedes slowly to cover with very nice lacing. Moderate smoked malt flavour up front gives way to sweet caramel and toffee with a slowly creeping roasty bitterness towards the finish. Medium-full body with creamy smooth texture. On tap at the brewpub. Crockett (902), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Feb 5, 2005 Draft. Pours deep brown/black with a thin creamy brown head. Lightly smoked chocolate, nutty roast, and berry aroma. Chocolate, toffee, coffee. Earthy malts. Smoke is very nicely incorporated. Lightly sweet caramel and berry nuiances. Musty yeast. Very dry long roasty finish. Great stuff.
