COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Winter Warmer is a full-flavoured dark brown beer with a round, malty flavour. Its nose is dominated by hops and alcohol, with notes of chocolate, citrus and plum on the palate. The fruitiness then gives way to a bitter finish. Colour: dark brown (light malt, Crystal and chocolate)

On tap at the Ottawa brewpub. Dark brown body with a thick, lasting, beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar and spicy hints. Alcohol is subtle. Its robust malty/hoppy taste carries spicy, brown sugar, and woody notes. Ends with a decent, moderately warming, bitter sweet finish. Not bad.

Peach, plum, hint of cocoa. Caramel malt, peach, red fruit, candy, mild hoppy finish. More decent than I expected, a bit too sweet maybe.

Pours a ruby-colored with a thin white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of alcohol, caramel. Taste is not really sweet and lightly spicy, feeling somewhat fresh. Quite bitter. Caramel and herbs/spices finish. Body is light to medium, carbonation way too high. Or maybe it is some alcohol showing? Nah, this is the carbonation. Anyway, not a success.

Trop? Peut-être un peu oui. Sinon, c’est très bon!

[5056-20130111] Tap. Mild grainy malt aroma. Clear, bright auburn body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Lightly buttered grains flavour has a floral booze background. Medium body is fairly boozy. Interesting, quite bold. (6/4/6/3/14) 3.3

(Rating #4707)

Aroma: vinous, alcoholic yet with milder approach. Clean character , fairly smooth feel.7+
Appearance: poured as clear dark garnet with amber hue, Lighter beige cap on top. Great lace presented.
Palate / Taste: Full bodied with mid carbonation. Clean brewing. Sided with yeasty character, smooth refined alcohol on top. Very nice.

on tap at quebec city location. golden with a small light beige head, little retention. some dried fruits, but mostly caramel, booze, sugary and lightly roasted and molassed malts, awkward garbagy taste and aroma, some spices. average carbonation, light to medium body, decent grassy-herbal finish. blah.

2013-01-11. Crisp dark red amber body, nice beige head and lace. 3++ Aroma is prominently spicey, lightly alcoholic, muted malt. Flavour is similarly quite spicey and moderately alcoholic. Dryness of the beer accentuates the spice. Mild malt eventually comes out as you go, very lightly leafy whispers to the hops on occasion. Average palate is a bit light for the beer. Body and dryish overall impression suggests an aggressive fermentation, a bit more malt character would add to the drink ability, alcohol is noticeable but relatively mild considering the strength. Decent. On tap at 3 Brewers, Toronto

First brew to try at the newest brewpub, in Ottawa. Pours a clean copper colour with a small off-white head that leave good lace. Beautiful mild aromas of spices, warming alcohol and cereal malts. Medium-full mouthfeel. Very nice bitterness the whole way with the hops. Decent sweetness from the grain balancing things. Feels like an Imperial IPA, but with the caramel malt balancing it all. I really liked it as my first taste of The 3 Brewers.
