Lupulus Hibernatus is black-coloured beer, strong (9°), brewed with malted barley (“pilsen” type) and torrefied barley. The hops used are coming from Slovenia. At the end of the boiling, the brewer add a bit of cinnamon. This combination with the torrefied barley gives the Hibernatus a powerful taste. The after-taste is at the same time bitter and sweet, and finishes on a light coffee touch.

Bottle, 75cL. @Naintré with my dad&mom. A sparkling dark brown beer with a big beige foamy head ; good retention and lacing. Red berries (blackberry), roast, toast, herb, sugar, light biscuit. Light to medium sweet, quite round, medium dry bitter refreshing ; light warming background. Full body, average light creamy texture, average carbonation, sweet fruity yeasty lasting finish. Overall, great ! Nice fruity character and bitterness ; good body and texture.

Pours a dark brown color, topped with a big tan head. Nutty and malty aroma, biscuity with some yeasty presence. Sweet, malty with noticeable alcohol presence. A bit woody feel as well. Creamy texture, but in general not that nice.
