the palest yellow. it tastes like carbonated apple juice having a fight with a glass of water. the water wins.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2003 Poured very pale yellow with a small bubbly head. Aroma of rice, buckwheat, and some citrus even. I was surprised how much the smell of buckwheat reminded me of a regular wheat beer. As the beer warmed, I noticed a solid cidery taste to it. It was quite carbonated. I finally got to share a beer with my friend who is allergic to gluten. That was awesome! Thanks Rastacouere

Extremely pale straw w/ small white head. Mild aroma of cooked rice & buckwheat. Extremely thin feel. Very water, very bland, cidery, white wine flavour.

Ultra pale. I mean this makes Coors Light look like Pilsner Urquell. Scant aroma. Thin body. Cidery palate. I can understand using certain grains to avoid gluten, but do hops really have so much gluten that they, too, need to be avoided? If I ever become allergic to gluten, I'll start drinking gin again, because rating this strictly on beer terms, it's awful.

Crystal clear colour with a VERY light yellow colour. The worst beer i've seen to date. Smells a bit like a white wine and looks like it as well. Light-bodied; Almost no flavour, a tiny bit of white wine taste, but not much. Aftertaste is very subtle and not great. Overall, not a great beer...pass this one up! I sampled this beer at Joey_Capps' on 13-September-2003 in Hamilton, Ontario.

Gluten free??? More like beer free. Very pale yellow colour with a light head. Buckwheat pancake aroma with slight buckwheat flavour and a weak body. About as conversational as a Muchacha from Saint Arnoulds. I eat alot of buckwheat and didn't like this.

Practically transparent, white winey aroma, and a bit of a white wine and alcohol flavour as well. It is made with rice and buckwheat and you can tell.

Hmm, this was not good. I guess it's an okay move for people allergic to gluten, but it's just not a tasting beer and doesn't really deserve to be rated here since it obviously will get blasted.

Good Lord!...This is the palest beer I have ever seen!...I think I could watch television through it...Weird plant aroma, reminiscent of dry wild rice...The body of a soda with a bit of bitterness in the back...I've compared beers to sodas before but this is ridiculous...Nefarious red apple skins and fictional cereal...This is 99% water, I'm afraid...

Really clear and really pale, not much head neither. Sweet aroma, rice, very shy lemon, paint solvant. Somewhat fruity, a tad of acidity, weird rice sweetness. Since I don't have a problem with gluten, I won't be drinking this beer anymore. By the way, I would not call that an american pale ale.
