2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poura a darker amber color with a thick syrupy texture. Smells of funked out apples that have been out in the sun and have turned sour. Get some honey and tannins in there as well. Very sweet and tannic apple characters with no carbonation. Goes down pretty easy and the sourness is subtle. Kind of a funky aftertaste of rotting apple though that kind of ruined it for me. Its not great but it isnt bad. Not something I’d buy again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500mL corked bottle. Cork is crumbly and cider is seeping through most of it. Not a good sign. Let’s see. Ugly multi brown, flat. Looks heavy. Nose of rich apple pie, oak, subtle alcohol, lots of sweetness. Flavor of very sweet apples, oak, apple-pie-like-spice, caramel, honey, small dose of tannins, alcohol in second half and finish. Sweet calvados aftertaste. Full, smooth, viscous palate. Heavy, weighty. No noticeable cork related damage. They label it an aperitif cider- too sweet for that. Maybe just a couple ounces if served before a meal. Definitely more of a dessert drink. Share with a few friends, no way I’ll finish this bottle.
