2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hazy amber. Phenolic and a little bit woody aroma. Sweetish and caramelly, with hints of mint. Too sweet forcthe style and needs a real blast of hop.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A dark clear amber IPA with a thin creamy off white head. A nice British hops aroma, fragrant, orangey, smooth and classy. In mouth, a nice hoppy ale with sweet notes, grapefruit hops. Rich and smooth. On tap at brewpub July 21 2009.

Enjoyed with the brewer at the brewpub. Unfiltered, 60 IBU. Good orange citrus, a tad of grapefruit. Warrior hops.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Coniferous and leafy hops grace this personable India Pale Ale, as caramelized and toasted grain balance everything out. This is very flavorful and accessible, straddling English and American stylings.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the amber-tinged copper.
-The hops are also citrusy at times, ending up in a levelled resinous bitterness.
-Malts are superbly extracted here, as they are in all of their beers.
-The mouthfeel is nourishing yet quaffable, and moreover superbly polished. This reminds me of Siboire brews (to name another highly professional Québécois brewpub).
On tap at the brewpub.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2009-11-17. Crisp orange amber body with a modest foamy beige head. 3+ Aroma is interesting, leafy hops, notes of herbaceous vegetation. 6+ Flavour is similar with strong vegetation notes to the hops that vary between nice and a bit off putting Pleasant bitterness, odd fruity character. I have tasted something quite similar but can not recall where. Mild resin. Touch of pepper?? No citrus to speak of. Malts are supportive. 6+ Average palate suits it. Perplexing. (Edit - this does not seem much like the beer previous raters describe which is disappointing. Different batch? Old? Who knows) On tap at the brewpub

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. At the brewpub. Clear amber-copper with a solid creamy lasting beige head (4-). Dry and leafy aroma, medium roast cereal grain and plenty of bitterness, mostly a slightly funky/floral variety - no alcohol presence at all. Incredibly dry flavour, slightly burnt oily grain, but mostly burnt-bitter leafiness, and man does it last a long time - long, long finish to this one. Average body, very astringent, quite intense on the palate - very solid, but the scorched character wears on the palate a bit after a while - still a solid brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A tasty and highly drinkable resinous and caramelized IPA.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy dark golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is strong and very hoppy with a hop signature that feels resinous, leafy and fruity. Body is full and nourishing but the remains highly sessionnable. Taste has a good rich caramel and a whole lot of bittering hops that are very resinous, slightly citrusy and tiny bit pine-tree. Straightforward and very effective example of the style. Hull Quebec is now another good place to get your North-American hop fix. Isn’t it annoying when people act like USA is not the only country in the world eh?

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep golden-orange with a small diminishing creamy white head. Nice aroma, it’s hoppy but also unique, along with lots of leafy hops there’s some sweet fruit, pepper, caramel malt and a hint of alcohol. Delicious flavour: Dry, slightly spicy hops along with some fruit, caramel malt and with a big bitter finish. Average bodied. Very good!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub: Medium copper color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma of medium bitter hops with subtle floral aroma. Taste is a nice enough mix between some caramel malt with a finish that includes dry and slightly bitter notes. I though body was also a bit thin on this one with some good carbonation. Not bad though a bit more hop in the profile would have benefited this one.
