Cask from brewpub. This is an odd duck. Cloudy pour with no head some lacing. Orange. Nose is limited, maybe some pine but very faint. Aromas are all over the place. Very fruity, like a kids fruit juice. Some pine and a big bitter burn. Alcohol is overwhelming on the finish. Mouth is reasonably creamy. Tastes are heavy sweet and big bitterness. This is bit of a mess.

Draught at the brewpub, Sep. 7. Pours a murky copper-gold with an average size lasting frothy white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma with lots of fruity and piney hops along with lots of sweet malt. Flavour’s almost Barley Wine-like, it’s sugary sweet, fruity, malty and hoppy along with some alcohol. Medium bodied. A touch too sweet buts a lovely sipper.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy amber pour, small white head. Huge aroma of booze, right off the bat. Sweet fruity esters, and some bready, cramel malts, with heavy sweet, piney hops. The hops are here, mand boy they make their presence felt with the unbelievable bitter finish. But the malts are incredibly boozy. Huge notes on the end of booze soaked fruit cake, and something i can only describe as cognac. I really wanted to like this, but what a mess.

Eructoblaster (2949) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 12, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy golden/orange body with an average off-white creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy and flowery hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its sharp, complex hoppy taste carries malty, coriander, and citrusy notes. Ends with a long warming bittersweet finish. Very well done.

Pours a dark copper/gold with a small quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is intense pine and citrus hops. Taste is a boatload of pine and citrus hop bitterness. It is not that well smoothed out with sweet malts although it is presence it still seems like it’s all bitter and no flavour.

Bonne.

probstblueribbon (2858) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. Murky orange-amber with a thin white head. Quite malty, sweet, with a hint of dirty funk, lightly peppery/spicy, maybe a little orange/citrus? Medium+ body, soft effervescence, slick. Alcohol, quite sweet, more alcohol, lightly peppery and citrusy, not loving it; sweet with intense alcohol and a reasonably bitter finish. Far too much booze.

A murky dark amber DIPA with a thin super lacing mocha head. In aroma, a sweet caramel malt with a smooth piney hops and light alcohol warmth. In mouth, a super malty DIPA with treacle, caramel, herbal hops and warming alcohol, grassy notes, nice. On tap at brewpub, July 18 2012.
