on tap at brewpub. hazy dark golden orange with a small light beige-orange head, little retention. toffee, caramel, spicy-peppery, toasted and caramel malts, fruity, boozy, fainted grassy-herbal-citrusy hops, some yeast - earhty, few phenols and other oxidized notes. average to soft carbonation, medium body - oily, decent grassy-citrusy finish. have to agree with slovaksniper... a brew that did not come up like expected and they call it a ’’cuvée’’...

(9 janvier 2013)

I was told there was an error in the production of this beer, but it seems that people like it, so they serve it. And I am glad to have tried this. Pours a hazy caramel colour with a small head and minimal lacing. Caramel malt scent with apples, notes of nuts and hops. Medium-bodied. Taste of butterscotch, apples and nice bitterness that stays the way lingering into the aftertaste. Nice mild burnt wood in the finish, all well-balanced with the hop. Loads of beautiful sugars, fruits and perfumes. Go and try it before none is left !

Hazy orange-brown with tons of white foamy head, some lacing, and some visible carbonation. Smell is hoppy grass, citrus, trees, and slightly sour. Palate is medium bodied with some moderate carbonation. Taste is weird, cloyingly sweet with a strong bitter element. Just strange overall.

Tried on tap as a sample at BdT. Mahogany with a nice biege head. Found this one a little too much caramel and sweetness for my liking, some highly sweet malts, boozy. Viscous body, mild carbonation, sweet, not too dry, and not my idea of a good mouthfeel; yet it has potential...curious if it needs a bit of age or just a better / larger pour.

Draught at the brewpub, Sep. 7. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a small semi-lasting frothy white head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, hops, some alcohol, toffee, dark fruit and yeast. Flavour, also nice, of toffee, caramel malt, fruit, a good amount of hops, yeast and a touch of spice. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. A lovely Barley Wine.

Sample at the pub. Pours a copper/toffee brown with a small white top. Aroma is caramel, malt and barley. Taste is nice sweet caramel, with barley and moderate complexity. Not as good as Mea Cupla but still really well done.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy brown pour, small offwhite head. Big sugary, bready, yeasty, sherry, and boozy malt aroma with some soapy, pine hops. Almost flat carb, and a super oily viscous mouthfeel. The finish was very bitter, and boozy. Some light caramels mingle with the hot alcohol, and the soapy pine hops finish it off.
