For the hop lover in you, this 100 IBU beer uses Columbus and Amarillo hops which exude explosive aromas of citrus, cherry, oak and rose water. Sweetness mingles with alcohol and hops in a lenghty aftertaste.

This is a stunning IPA from a great little brew pub in Gatineau. Most of the brewpubs in and around the Ottawa area offer up embarrassingly bad beers, but these guys have a few very good offerings that are now available in bottles at stores around the area. The beer itself has a wonderfully bright nose, with plenty or aromatic hops, citrus, some pine needle and a touch of sweetness. The colour is pretty typical of any IPA, with a nice deep golden hue and a beige head that dissipates slowly as you drink it. The taste is truly among some of the best IPAs I’ve ever had. At 10% it’s a very hefty beer even for an imperial, splitting the line somewhere between a DFH 90 minute and a DFH 120 minute. In that regard, the balance is almost perfect. The alcohol is very well integrated, and not really noticeable due to the crisp finish provided by the intense hops, and the excellent balance of sweetness. Mouthfeel is a little on the thick side, but it suits this beer perfectly. Anything with this much alcohol and hops needs a heavier feel to it, and this delivers without feeling overly sweet or sugary. Overall, this is one of my new favorites, and comes strongly recommended is you happen to be in the area. Strangely, I feel it tastes better from the bottle than it does served at the actual pub.

Bouteille de 750ml, robe orangée, arôme de houblon qui domine, goût d'agrumes et amertume soutenue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Excellent produit! Cheers!

750 mil bottle from brewery, bottled 11/08/31#1038, cool, tulip, shared with brother. Hazy orange amber with a so so off white head. Lots of citrus and resin, berry notes, slightly woodsy, bitter green herbs, Saison funkiness (odd), a little sweet maltiness, not as expected. Medium+ body, vivicious effervescence. Strong Saison funk with bitter green herbs, sweet, fruity malts, big citrus peel, not at all what I expected; sweet with good bitterness, booze, and a long fruity, funky finish. Devilish indeed.

December 6, 2012 - on draught at Les Brasseurs du Temps. Reasonably hazy amber-gold with an average but lasting thick creamy off-white head. Aroma - a bit boozy, lemon and tangerine zest, quite sharp (8-). Taste is quite strong - a nice solid fruit-sweet malty backbone to frame strong citrus light pine bitterness and quite a bit of alcohol - very ear-warming. A bit boozy, strongly bitter, solid carbonation, some astrinency, dry grapefruit pith finish, a little sweet in the aftertaste.

Glass, poured at La Saint-Bock - Montreal, QC. Strong, grassy lupulin and pot aroma. It really puts forth a grassy essence, as does the flavor. Dry, tropical hops are paired with grating, broken chlorophyll tones. This is a little coarse and brusk, focusing on the bitterness and less on the dankness of hop flavors. T’wasn’t unpalatable though and made for a nice, hoppy introduction to a warm Montreal evening.

Bottle 750ml. Pours hazy/murky golden. Minimal head. Aroma is of citrus, acidity. Taste is of citrus, weird malt, alcohol. Overall: Maybe I have to re-rate in the future, but for now I would say this beer tastes weird, which is no compliment.

750mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy reddish copper colour with some thick white head that dissipates slowly. Smell is sweet, but clearly balanced with some hoppy goodness, lots of citrus and something a little floral. Palate is fairly thick and a bit oily, slightly lighter than average carbonation. Taste is initially a bit sweet, but then the bitter hops roll in and just lingers for a long while. A bit of a warming alcohol sensation in the throat. Excellent for summer, but I’d drink it year-round.
