750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany!), pours a murky dark orange with a small off-white head. The nose is moderately hoppy, with some tangy fruits and feint caramel malts. Flavour is sweet and tangy - honey coated tangy fruits on top, with low-to-medium hoppy notes to follow balanced by some caramel malts - tangy, honey-like finish. Not so assertively hoppy for a IIPA, but a medium bitter finish. Solid.

Alcohol, full body, sugar, fruity that all mix up pretty well. Bubblegum, the fruity aroma of that beer could be refined. A little soapy. I like that one cause she’s dirty! F*** yeah!

Thanks to hoppypocket for this extra.
Poured from a 750ml. bottle, bottled Aug. 31 2011.
Appearance: A very creamy head, 3-4 fingers strong with long lasting power. Body is a gorgeous hazy orange.
Smell: Reserved at first but really opens up as it warms. Hops, grapefruit, orange pulp, a bit of oak and a mix of sweet & bitter.
Taste: Spicy, citrus, burnt sugar. A bit sweet actually which overpowers the bitterness. Mellows as it warms. Aftertaste of grapefruit rind is nice.
Mouthfeel: Low on the bitterness, surprisingly smooth and very well balanced.
Overall: The alcohol is not felt at all. A nice mesh of sweetness and spices. Would have liked more lasting bitterness but i was still pleased with this one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

Bottle. Amber pour with white head. Aroma: Spicy earthy hops, soap, tropical fruits, light citrus and caramel. Taste: Nice hoppy bitterness along with some dark malts. The malts presence is not too intense. Palate: Very heavy IIPA and sweet. This is pretty much as good as it gets for a IIPA brewed in Quebec, unfortunately still a long way to american versions.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line :
This hefty Double IPA’s plump caramelized cereals ably support citrusy and resinous hops from beginning to end, building a luxurious sipper.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slim veil of foam floats atop the cloudy amber.
-Carbonation is quite low, which makes the body feel even bigger than it is.
-Alcohol is not a bother in the flavor profile.
-The green hop resins in the finish offer plenty of bitterness, but the residual sugars are able to make it feel not too intense.
-This is a Barley Wine mouthfeel with Double IPA hop aromatics.
-A little more dryness would make this absolutely sublime to me. Then again, lots of Quebecers have a sweet tooth, so they are probably highly pleased by these sugary love handles.
-BdTemps have a knack for strong ales. Their lower abv beers are all good, but you can almost feel the passion in their strong ales. Great job!
-Strawberries appear once in a while when the green nature of the hops meet the brown sugar-like sweetness.

On tap at Brasseurs du Temps. The color is a hazy amber with a thick beige head. The aroma is of glorius hops and citrus fruits. The taste also of hops citrus fruits mostly pink grapefruit, with a touch of malt. The alcohol is not overpowering. The taste of the swwet bitterness stays in your mouth and that is a good feeling. This was an excellent beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft: Poured a deep copper color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus notes are quiet intense and enjoyable. Taste is also a very good mix between some piney and citrus hops with a solid caramel malt backbone and a bitter finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well brewed with intense hoppy notes veering on the floral side instead of pure bitterness.
