3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gramity (1090) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 15, 2011
Poured a light amber color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of caramel malt with light dry hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by light dry caramel notes with light subtle dry hops finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not the most interesting style in my opinion but well brewed nonetheless.

Sample from brewpub. Hazy light amber with white creamy head. Honey, light malt, light fruity hops bit of metal. Average body, good carbonation, slightly sweet but a good bitter finish with a good dryness. Might need to give this one another chance to see if the metallic and sulphur disappear.

Of all the beers I’ve tried at the brewpub, this one impressed me the least. Still a solid beer, just an unremarkable version of an ESB. A bit of caramel malt backing, and there was a bitter touch at the end, just not as big a punch poverall as I would have liked.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (5191) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2011
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep orange-amber with an average size diminishing creamy/frothy white head. Decent lacing on the glass. Aroma’s quite fruity, a touch sugary, it almost smells like juice along with some light hops added. Flavour of caramel malt, a good amount of fruit, some grain or cereal malt and light leafy hops -- the hops show up mostly in the decent bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. I can see what they mean when they say this is an "English style ESB", it seems pretty much on style, and it’s pretty good but I prefer a U.S. style ESB.
