Clear orange, lots of white head and lacing. Smell is lots of citrus and some tropical fruit. Medium-light body with good carbonation. Taste is all bitter in varying degrees and flavours. Quite a tasty ESB.

Enjoyed at the Wakefield Inn, The Heron restaurant, overlooking the MacLaren Falls. It was my first experience there. Poured a cloudy amber, almost looking like watered-down carrot juice. Off-white, creamy, fluffy head with good lacing. Refreshing fruity nose (oranges mostly), sweet malts with notes of honey and light hop. Medium-bodied, wet mouthfeel, but with a dry finish from the hop. The taste was pretty close to the aromas, but a little milder, and well-balanced between the hop and the fruitiness. Does not seem like an ESB to me, but it sure is a nice beer overall.

On tap at the brewpub. Copper pour, small off white head. Big earthy hop aroma, but unmistakenly uk hops. Solid caramel malts, even some sweet toffee. Solid carb and mouthfeel. The finish was a little lighter than expected in the bitterness depeartment, and the sweet toffee, caramel malts take over.

Hazy amber. The aroma is yeasty and phenolic w some light hop earthiness. Taste is sweetish but w nice gentle hop bitterness and a fairly yeasty finish.

Sample tray. Amber. Strong spicy scent. Scent translates into nice strong hopped flavour with a citrus finish.

On draught at BDT. Slightly hazy orange with a large fluffy off-white lasting head. Lovely aroma - borderline 8/10 - cereal grain, floral bitterness, terrific balance, no real alcohol presence. Taste follows, more bitterness, quite fresh. Chewy, solid mouthfeel, delicate carbonation, medium long slightly earthy/grainy dry finish. Damned good ESB! ---Rated via Beer BADASS for iPhone

My Bottom Line :
BIscuity cereals and their fine sweetness are spruced up by orange tea-like hops and their bitterness in this pleasurable Extra Special Bitter.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam clings to the misty honey gold.
-Carbonation is prickly, yet not too intense. Still, this is the type of carbonation I believe to showcase such subtle flavors.
-The flavor profile is tame, which increases drinkability.
-This brew has more depth than their Mille Neuf Cendre smoked ale, for example, but both achieve the same goal of providing a friendly pint.

On tap at the brewpub.
