Hazy amber. The aroma is yeasty and phenolic w some light hop earthiness. Taste is sweetish but w nice gentle hop bitterness and a fairly yeasty finish.

A hazy golden amber ESB with a thin off white head. In aroma, a light caramel malt with light British hops, fresh malt grains, peppery notes. In mouth, a nice malt base, crisp, with good British hops, mineral, peppery notes, butterscotch notes, dry and crisp but malt overtaking the hops. On tap at brewpub Nov. 30 2009

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. I particularly like this brewpub’s hoppy beers. No odour. Good lacing on medium golden colour. Dry hop taste. Not great for its style, but decent drinkability and palate cleanser from the vegetable and yeasty series of the product line.Average mouthfeel.

2010-03-08. Crisp orange amber body with a modest beige head and lace that fades away. 3+ Modest hops and light tangy fruity malt character, mild resiny hops. 6+ Flavour has pleasant bitterness throughout, mild orange citrus hops, mild fruit, light toasty caramel malt with a bit of fruity tang in the finish. Average palate suits the beer. A decent North American take on the style. Just a touch more hops would probably add interest. Pleasant. On tap at the brewpub, Gatineau

My Bottom Line :
BIscuity cereals and their fine sweetness are spruced up by orange tea-like hops and their bitterness in this pleasurable Extra Special Bitter.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam clings to the misty honey gold.
-Carbonation is prickly, yet not too intense. Still, this is the type of carbonation I believe to showcase such subtle flavors.
-The flavor profile is tame, which increases drinkability.
-This brew has more depth than their Mille Neuf Cendre smoked ale, for example, but both achieve the same goal of providing a friendly pint.

On tap at the brewpub.

Aromaslight buttery with soapy hops. Slight sulphuric hints. Base of amber gold malt.
Appearance hazed amber with light top.3-
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied ale . Mild malt base with clean citric hop character. Good easy going flow. Refreshing if you don’t mind aroma.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep orange-amber with an average size diminishing creamy/frothy white head. Decent lacing on the glass. Aroma’s quite fruity, a touch sugary, it almost smells like juice along with some light hops added. Flavour of caramel malt, a good amount of fruit, some grain or cereal malt and light leafy hops -- the hops show up mostly in the decent bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. I can see what they mean when they say this is an "English style ESB", it seems pretty much on style, and it’s pretty good but I prefer a U.S. style ESB.

On draught at BDT. Slightly hazy orange with a large fluffy off-white lasting head. Lovely aroma - borderline 8/10 - cereal grain, floral bitterness, terrific balance, no real alcohol presence. Taste follows, more bitterness, quite fresh. Chewy, solid mouthfeel, delicate carbonation, medium long slightly earthy/grainy dry finish. Damned good ESB! ---Rated via Beer BADASS for iPhone

In short: A sweet (a little too sweet) and fruity ESB. Nothing special.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark orange body topped by a medium white head
In long: The nose lightly hoppy with some leafy hops. Taste is toasted white bread with caramel and it is also very fruity with tropical fruits, berries and orange notes. The leafy hops provide only a mild bitterness and no dryness. A little too sweet for my taste, I prefer my ESBs a little dryer for long sessions. 1821, the death of Napoleon, the French leader who met his Waterloo in a Belgium city that (by some incredible coincidence) was also called Waterloo.

on tap at brewpub. clear dark golden orange with a disappearing off-white head, some lacing. good malt structure, cereals, toastiness, without it being biscuity, some toffee notes, very fruity, english yeast, hint of sweetness, medium hopped - dry herbal-citrusy taste and a long citrusy-herbal finish. lively carbonation, light to medium body. nice.
