Version vieillie en fût de bourbon. En fût à L'Autre Œil. Noire opaque au collet brun moka. Menthe. Épice. Chocolat. Piquante (piment fort ou encore gingembre). Betterave. Cacao brut. Torréfié. Boisé. Vanille. Forte chaleur d'alcool, probablement accentué par la brûlure d'une épice piquante. Biscuit. Mélasse. Légèrement fruité. Très complexe et rempli au complet la bouche. J'aime beaucoup.

wow, this was an amazing beer. Pours pitch black with a small tan head and big lacing. Coffee, caramel and the finish has a bit of a tart cherry twist to it. Lovely. Creamy in the mouth with lots of carbonation.

Wow, Pours dark brown with a small dark brown top. Aroma is chocolate, deep roasted malts, small coffee and spice. Taste is full mouthfeel, lots of roasted malts and bitter chocolate and a nice spice aftertaste. Great balance.

750 ml bottle from the brewery.

Appearance: Pours a motor oil dark brown/blackish colour with a hint of tan head and moderate amount of lacing.

Aroma: Licorice, baking spices and dark malts.

Flavours: Licorice, baking spices, black pepper, dark roasted malt, bit of black coffee.

Mouthfeel: Thick and coating mouthfeel. There is almost spice type of heat on the finish. Carbonation seems a bit higher on this one.

Overall: Really nice and complex beer with a lot of different things going on. Only fault is the spices are a bit strong.

Bouteille. Prix exorbitant.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a superb aroma of cocoa, coffee grinds, spices, cinnamon and light black pepper. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with mint notes, herbs, and nice burning chili, alcohol warmth, coconut, rich and smooth. On tap at BdT, May 16, 2012.

On tap at the brewpub. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thin brown creamy head. Strong, complex malty/hoppy aroma with plummy, brown sugar, woody, and spicy hints. Its robust malty/hoppy taste carries vineous, cocoa, and ginger notes. Ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Great stuff!

Pours a real dark brown colour, close to black, but with ruby highlights. Big frothy mocha-coloured head with good retention and creamy lacing. Aromas dark fruits, roasted malts and spices. This is where the ginger and cinnamon stands out. The mouthfeel is smooth. The taste starts off smoothly as well with well-blended roasted malts, dark fruit, cocoa and then it hits you. The spices seem like chipotle, so a nice burn results. After a little while good coffee notes appear in the aftertaste. Quite a nice dark brew with lots going on, but all very well balanced.
