Version vieillie en fût de bourbon. En fût à L'Autre Œil. Noire opaque au collet brun moka. Menthe. Épice. Chocolat. Piquante (piment fort ou encore gingembre). Betterave. Cacao brut. Torréfié. Boisé. Vanille. Forte chaleur d'alcool, probablement accentué par la brûlure d'une épice piquante. Biscuit. Mélasse. Légèrement fruité. Très complexe et rempli au complet la bouche. J'aime beaucoup.

wow, this was an amazing beer. Pours pitch black with a small tan head and big lacing. Coffee, caramel and the finish has a bit of a tart cherry twist to it. Lovely. Creamy in the mouth with lots of carbonation.

Wow, Pours dark brown with a small dark brown top. Aroma is chocolate, deep roasted malts, small coffee and spice. Taste is full mouthfeel, lots of roasted malts and bitter chocolate and a nice spice aftertaste. Great balance.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a superb aroma of cocoa, coffee grinds, spices, cinnamon and light black pepper. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with mint notes, herbs, and nice burning chili, alcohol warmth, coconut, rich and smooth. On tap at BdT, May 16, 2012.

On tap at the brewpub. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thin brown creamy head. Strong, complex malty/hoppy aroma with plummy, brown sugar, woody, and spicy hints. Its robust malty/hoppy taste carries vineous, cocoa, and ginger notes. Ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Great stuff!

Tried on tap as a sample at BdT and very tempted to order a pint. The most interested beer I have had in a while and possibly ever. Black with a nice brown head, crazy intriguing aroma of cinnamon, cocoa powder, powdered ginger with some nice malts; moderate body and carbonation with a dryness that completely sucks the moisture out of your palate and leaves ginger, anise and cinnamon to linger. Although I like other BdT beers more this is the one you should seek out for its uniqueness.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2012 En fût au BDT. Couleur noire, mousse brune. Arôme d’épices, espresso. En bouche, soyeuse et agréable. Beaucoup de saveurs...épices, café, un peu de chocolat par la suite, cannelle. Un peu épicée, genre gingembre. Légère amertume en terminant. Très bonne.

Draft: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of dry roasted malt with some light spicy notes. Taste is a good mix dominated by dry roasted malt with light coffee notes with some light cayenne notes which are well balanced. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well done with just the right amount of heat.
