Hazy blondish amber. Thin head. Has quite a bit of smoke on the nose - beech. Thin body so not a lot of malt but w a lot of smoke still.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2010
A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice herbaceous malt with nice smoked ham notes. In mouth, a nice refreshing rauchbier with light smoked malts, light honey notes, very quaffable, ideal for BBQ. On tap at brewpub, April 16 2010.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 4, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Smoked salmon allusions ride mild bready sweetness in this dryish, very drinkable brew.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the pale amber-hued golden.
-This is drier than most beers from BdTemps. A nice change of pace.
-The prickly carbonation and grain bill flavors do not recall any German-made Rauchbiers. This is more akin to a Smoked Golden Ale, or something in that realm.
-A little more softness in the mouthfeel (natural carbonation and pils malts, for example) would help this beer reach greater heights (in my tastes, anyway).
-This is a nice introduction to smoked beers for those who might be reticent to drink such a brew.
On tap at the brewpub.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 23, 2011
2011-05-18. Lightly hazy golden body with a nice creamy beige head and lace. 3+ Smokey aroma is a bit peat like, bit of smoked meat like smoke, muted toasty malt below. 6+ Flavour is similar, the smoke is less strong than in the aroma, but more prominent than I would like. Nice malty base is largely eclipsed by the smoke. Smooth average plus bodied palate. Decent, well made smoked beer but very much not to my own tastes. On tap at the brewpub
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Radek Kliber (5912) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - AUG 16, 2011
On tap at brewpub
Aroma: soft meaty smoky character with malty bottom. Pleasant with out boldness.
Appearance: bright haze on amber with medium white top.
Body/Flavour/Palate: Medium bodied. Creamy smoky in character. Slight cheese notes with woody top. Based with Rauch qualities accented by caramel at finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (5568) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 9, 2010
In short: Moderate smoke and refreshing tropical fruits flavor. Nice session beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy golden orange body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is fruity and quite smoky with a smoked ham type of smokiness. In mouth the beer is only moderately smoky and it has a pleasant refreshing topical fruits character. The body is medium, the carbonation is medium. Not very tasty. Overall rather smooth and easy to drink. Dumdum (the brewer) runs a lot of tests before selling a beer. He tries A LOT of his own creations. That’s professionalism for you. Not the case with everyone. Surely whoever came up with the advice "fight fire with fire" didn’t run many tests.

Draft at brewpub. Hazy golden yellow, white head. Fun smoky aroma, pale malt. Soft palate. Remains smoky and peaty with a nice smack of pale malt. Fun but is also thin.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 6, 2011
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a semi-clear orange with a small creamy white head. Aroma of smoke, toasted malt and fruit. Nice easy-to-drink flavour follows the aroma but with the smoke being more subtle. Average to medium bodied. I quite liked this.

On tap at the brewery, slight hazy amber hue, with a ring of white head, nice smoked salmon, bacon, chips nose, with some earthy toasted, caramel, bamberg smoky malt accents, with a faint, fruity, toffee, biscuity graininess note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, smoked maltiness character, reminiscent of good smokey salmon, ham, meat and chip flavours, with a mild beechwood undertone, leading towards a yeasty, fruity, lingering smoked malty finish.
