La Saison Haute is an 8.5% saison that pours a crystal clear gold with no head. The nose is that musty funk I associate with the style. It’s got a smooth soft body and a musty, tart, funky taste. A good example of a belgian saison.

On tap on the premises. Cloudy light gold with a thin frothy white head. Flavors are cereals, dough, banana peel, stone fruits, grapefruit and honey with spicy and herbal notes. Light to medium body, moderate to high carbonation, smooth texture.

750ml bottle shared thanks to Lukaduke! Pours cloudy toasted orange with big head. Nose is yeast forward fruity spice and peppery grains. Taste is doughy bread with peppery citrus spice and prominent yeasty fruit. Has a bit of a boozy undertone. Finish is dry doughy rustic bread, grain, and yeast spice.

Pours a ripe golden color with three fingers of white fluffy foam. Nose is true to style with some bright floral fieldgrass, supporting rustic grain and nuances of lemon, barnyard hay and peppered yeast. Palate follows nicely with a doughy grain forward start that sets the base for the complex notes of cirtus, floral grass, spicy yeast and strong carbonation to amp the flavors and dry out the finish.

Bonne longueur. Fiche technique Style: Saison de type belge Format: 750 ml Taux d?alcool: 8.5% Température: 6°C

Bottled sample via breWedge. Gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of sweet orange, herbs, cut grass, pilsner malt, and wet stones. More dry herbal and grainy in the mouth, with a bit of toasted marshmallow I the I as well. Smells sweet, it tastes and finishes dry. A bit like St. Feuillien, but more dy. Good overall.

Belle robe bruneuse jaune orange.

Bottle 750ml. Pours hazy blond with medium white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of belgian yeast, fruits, sugar. Taste is of belgian yeast, sugar, fruits, citrus. Palate: Medium body. Light-medium carbonation. Overall: Good. Nice yeast action fruit-wise. Not off. Just a bit too heavy and not so drinkable for the style. Some sugar in there.
