Light pumpkin, light spice, light everything. Kinda boring, alcohol is well hidden quite easy drinking. Light bitterness, quite a bit of sweet malts in the finish. Meh, pretty boring.

Pumpkin spiced beer. Dark orange pour with an off white head. Aroma is nutmeg, mace, pumpkin spice. Pretty boring pumpkin spice beer. What is the appeal of these things?

(Rating #4103)

Bottled sample via lubiere, shared with oakbluff. Cloudy pale amber in colour with medium carbonation. Pumpkin pie spices (nutmeg + mace) upfront on the nose, with a bit of pumpkin and crispy pale malts in the background. Spices dominate the palate as well, but seem to create a bit of a metallic note on the finish. Quite light bodied. Not bad.

My Bottom Line :
Dessert spices greet discreet toasted and caramelized cereals in this cuddliest of Pumpkin Ales.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy veil of foam decorates the hazy, fiery orange.
-The nose is the most linear part of the brew, focusing on spices (nutmeg, cinnamon) alone.
-Effervescence is perfect for soft, rich mouthfeel.
-Spices coalesce with the toasted grains in the finish.
-This is quite drinkable despite the 7% abv.
-If it were the same price as Magouille, I’d go for this one, but since the Magouille is much better priced AND high quality for the same type of beer, I’ll stick to Magouille for my Pumpkin Ale desires.

Bottle.

Bottle: Poured a pale light orangey color ale with a nice thick foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light pumpkin and light cloves notes is interesting. Taste is a mix between a lightly sweet malt bill with some notes of pumpkin and light cinnamon and cloves notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A bit too much pumpkin in the forefront for my taste but very enjoyable nonetheless.

750 ml bottle from BDT via Lubiere, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear fairly deep mahogany with a fair orange-tan froth. Aroma: A nicely balanced blend of pumpkin pie spices and rich malts, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, hard to pinpoint any one spice, a bit of a bright...pumpkin note?, pretty darn close to liquid pie. Palate: Medium+ body, very relaxed effervescence, nearly still but not in a bad way. Flav.: Similar to the nose, a nicely balanced melange of pie spices and good malt support, rich and surprisingly enjoyable; dry with limited bitterness and a likeable malty, slightly spiced finish.

This could be my favourite “pumpkin” beer. The spices that I normally dislike are integrated nicely into the overall brew. Good job, DumDum!

This is the higher alcohol version of their pumpkin ale, available at the Métro stores in a brown 750ml bottles. Pours a copper colour at first that becomes cloudy near the last pour. Beautiful creamy and frothy beige head that stays a while and leaves great lacing. Cinnamon nose with a touch of pumpkin and nutmeg. Refreshing medium-bodied mouthfeel with no burns what-so-ever. Same taste as the aromas delivers. Not too punchy, but well-balanced and smooth. A nice pumpkin ale for those who like the spices not too strong and easy-going down.
