La Scie Trouillarde a 5% pumpkin beer which pours a glowing amber with very impressive lacing. It was very smooth bodied and had a silky mouthfeel. The taste was a delicious nutty caramel & pumpkin flesh with light bready malts. People looking for a US style spice bomb would be disappointed but this is the kind of pumpkin beer I prefer.

Draught. At the brewpub. Clear bright copper with a decent lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and pumpkin spice, not at all vegetal. Also tastes of quite sweet roast caramel and pumpkin pie spices, with wheat, banana and some dry floral bitterness. Soft mouthfeel, astringency from the pungent spicing, mild carbonation, and a dry spicy linger - I quite liked the aroma, a pleasant pumpkin beer.

2009-11-17. Dark amber body with a modest beige head. 3+ Aroma is mild, light vanilla? Spice? Touch of fruit character. 6+ Flavour is similar, light fruit and spice, mild supportive malt base. Alcohol is not noticable at first but comes out a bit as it warms. Average palate is smooth. On tap at the brewpub

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2013 [on tap]Star anise aroma with some eggnog sweet and spiciness. Hazy red-amber with a tawny ring. Slightly smoky anise flavour that imparts a spice bitterness. Relatively dry but with an appropriately subtle bitterness. Light to medium body, moderate to medium carbonation, spicy finish.

Pours a orange amber with a delicate white top. Aroma is a hint of spice, pumpkin and malt. Taste is well balanced, and nicely subtle. Spice is muted which is nice for me, malt is there but again just a hint and a pumpkin warmth. Nice seasonal.

Tried on tap at BdT. Surprised to find this still on tap but happy to try it. Nice amber with an off white head. Some nutmeg, pumpkin, caramel, cloves, decent maltiness; mild body and carbonation, somewhat sweet with lots of spice. Wouldn’t more then a 12oz pour but it was nice.
