3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SlovakSniper (2123) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 18, 2013

(9 janvier 2013)
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GuillaumeCL (312) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 21, 2012
Clear orange-brown with a ton of head and some lacing. Smell is quite weak, but I get some hoppy citrus/fruit and a bit of sour. Medium bodied with some soft carbonation. Taste is interesting, nutty and sweet.

On tap at the brewpub.
Typical Quebec style amber. Big on the caramel malts, and little on hop aroma. You can tell the. Hops are there, because there is quite a bitterness in the finish, but aromaticaly, they are nowhere to be found. The caramel malts arnt too obtrusive, or cloying, just a nice backbone without turning off your palate. A decent amber, but nothing special.

Hazy amber. Thin head. Some crackery, biscuity malts in the nose. Toasty character and a fairlt light body. Indistinctive.

Draft at brewpub. Coppery orange with nice haze and lace. Strange aroma, worty but not sweet. Tastes pretty nice with a nice balance with minty hop. However, its on the thin and yeasty side too.

Sample tray. Dark amber. Soft mellow nose and body. Some finishing hops keep popping up in aftertaste to make you try another sip.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 gramity (1057) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 15, 2011
A deep chestnut pour with a finger of off white foam. Nutty nose is also earthy with toffee and caramel malts, a bit toasty too. Tastes of sweet malty nuts, caramel, sbrown sugar, with a nice dose of hops to balance the sweetness.

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Light amber with an off white head. Sweet malt, some dark caramel and grain (bit of rye) with mild hops and smoke. Moderate carbonation, ok body, bit nutty, mild bitterness. Not my favourite style but its ok.
