Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Deep black color with a thin brown head. Flavor of chocolate and roasted malt. Bitter finish. Medium body with a vinous texture and medium carbonation.

Jet black with a huge mocha head. Dark burnt malts, licorice, smoke, and soy. Palate is a bit watery and seems thin. Great roasty finish and a medium bitterness. Good but not mindblowing. Pretty tasty.

Pours inky black with a thick brown head. Aroma is big roasted malts, some coffee and hop flavouring. Taste has a nice upfront hop bitterness with loads of roasted malts, great full mouthfeel and some coffee in the aftertaste. Another great beer.

Deep brown/black pour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, maybe a bit oxidized. It’s sad when Imperial Stout flavors and aromas become "standard" but this one was pretty standard. It all tasted good and worked well together but there wasn’t anything mind blowing about it.

750mL bottle; bottled on 11/08/2011. Pours jet black with a huge, creamy off-white head. On the nose we have cherry, dark chocolate, lactose, coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Taste is dark fruit, 90% dark chocolate, and coffee followed by a nutty smokiness and some grassy hops. Very nice balance between sweet chocolate and roasted bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the thin side with good carbonation. Finish is long and bitter leaving dark chocolate and plum. A delicious brew with a lot going on and an emphasis on bitter flavours. There is a nice oaky/nutty/smokey character to it which complements the roasted coffee well.

Bottle 750 ml [2011] Appearance: Black with a ok creamy brown head. Aroma: Roasted coffee, dark chocolate and belgium malt (?). Taste: Sweet in the beginning. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate with a a dry and bitter finish. A bit watery between the strong coffee notes of the beginning and the dry and bitter finish. Palate: Creamy and round. Overall: An excellent imperial stout who could be great if a bit more complex.

Bottle. Very black with good brown head. Very nice aroma of chocolate cookies, alcohol and molasses. Body seems thinner than aroma. Licorice and alcohol up front and pleasant chocolate biscuity cookie in the finish. Front and back are nice. Middle ha an aggressive sharp bitter punch.

Bouteille de 750ml. Merci Patrick. Bière noire avec une mousse brune durable. Le nez est de grains grillés, chocolaté. Il y a des esters fruités. La bouche est mince, elle manque de corps. Elle est légère et elle a des goûts chocolatés et une amertume de grain rôti. Correct.
