3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, - OCT 21, 2010
2010-10-13. Crisp dark orange amber body with a modest beige head and lace. 3+ Flavour is pleasantly hoppy with a modest bitterness throughout that grows slowly. Modest citrus with a resiny finish, light green notes come and go. 7+ Aroma is modest, mild but pleasant sweet citrusy hops. Average plus bodied palate suits the beer. 3+ Very drinkable, just a touch more oomph would take it up a notch. On tap at the brewpub.

My Bottom Line :
Caramelized cereals meet herbal, earthy hops in this balanced, very drinkable Harvest Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the misty amber.
-The hop character is present from beginning to end, but it is not too engaging, so...
-Carbonation is prickly but not too intense.
-Residual sugars provide flavor, but nothing too satisfying.
-This year’s version is an easygoing brew which should please most coming to have dinner at BdTemps.
-Hops do not have any of the brightness expected from a Harvest brew.
On tap at the brewpub, 2011 version.

2011 version on tap at BDT. Pours a deep copper with a fabulous white froth top. Aroma is grassy fresh hops and a pile of rich malt. Taste is a great balance of earthy malt and grassy fresh hops. The bitterness on this will build as you go through your pint. It’s subdued but lingers. Great beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white creamy head. Frash hoppy aroma with malty, flowery, and fruity hints. Well balanced malty/hoppy taste with grainy, spicy, and grapefruit notes. Ends with a long, sharp bitter finish. Well done.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at their brewpub, on October 1, 2010. Pale orange, little head. Hop aroma is very fresh, sweet herbal notes. Very dry hop taste, lots of herbes, aftertaste is not very bitter. Interesting but I’m not used to the harvets type ale!
