2009-11-17. Dark yellow with a small off-white head. 3+ Pleant aroma, mild yeast and spice, fruit, muted perfume like character that is not unpleasant. 7+ Flavour is similar, fruity, light yeast, mild spice briefly becomes a bit floral, and a touch of perfume again before a bit of unexpected bitterness in the finish. 7+ Average palate borders on light but is quite smooth and seems to suit it. Intriguing. A bit different, but I liked it. On tap at the brewpub

Draught. At the brewpub. Slightly hazy gold with an average creamy white head. Aroma of alcohol (fairly strong), spruce, sweet almost candyish malt, ginger, dry yeast and some grassiness. The taste was quite remarkable, a really good trippel made in Canada! - light dry grassiness, spice and tons of yeast, appropriate alcohol, and sweet but not cloying malt - all well-balanced against each other. Slick, astringent, very lively mouthfeel, the alcohol rises to the top by the end of the spicy finish - really solid, well done!

My Bottom Line:
This highly estery Tripel boasts banana and pear fruitiness atop sweet cereals and herbal, leafy hops and their bitterness. Classy and balanced, this is as idiosyncratic as it gets for the style while never falling into the depths of quirkiness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy blond.
-This is dangerously drinkable for 9%!
-Like most of Dominique’s creations, this one is not a recreation of style expectations, but rather a unique twist on it. To me, this one is a Tripel leaning towards pale Weizenbocks.
-The body is rounder than expected; I usually prefer crisper Belgian ales, but this one is full of personality, so I don’t really mind.
-Alcohol is almost a no show in the flavor profile.

On tap at the brewpub.

Wow this beer kicked my butt. Aroma of fruit and spicy yeast. Taste is hop, peppery spice and malt. Absolutely fantastic. My favourite of the sampler.

Three Bridges pours a hazy yellow with orange hues in the light. It is topped with a frothy blecahed white cap. Pretty lace. Nose is of yeasty esters and fruit, very malty, quite spicy and floral. Tastes of sweet fruit, floral and herbal hops, very yeasty. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, but no hint of the ABV. Very good.

On tap at the brewpub: Poured an orangey color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma of fruity ester and light spicy yeast is interesting. Taste is a nice mix between some Belgian style malt with good notes of fruity ester and some light spicy yeast notes at the end. Body is full for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done for early stage of the brewpub and something I will revisit again.

Nice, orangey colour with white head. Not much aroma but some spiciness there. Typical tripel flavour, more on the fruity end than the spicy end, well balanced. really lovely thickness. My standard tripel is unibroue fin du monde. Not as good as that but it holds its own.

A hazy golden orange ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice orange pulp, with light white pepper notes, coriander, curacao, classy. In mouth, a very sweet citrussy candy sugar with light orange peels, a bit of coriander, a bit too sweet for me. Rich and warming. On tap at brewpub, August 7 2009.
