muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jan 17, 2007 375 ml naturally-corked bottle from Marché des Saveurs in Montreal, QC (August 2006) served out of the fridge in a White Winter Winery glass. Very pale, completely still yellow-gold with faint quick-disappearing legs.....dry, lightly funky, herbal aroma, dry leaves and a touch of barnyard, old musty apples and finally, a faint hint of floral honey....exceptionally dry, subtle mouthfeel, just the faintest hint of bee-promulgated sweetness at midpalate and continuing just barely to the finish; whispers of chardonnay and crisp dry apples, chalky-clay soil, musk......light, slightly metallic mouthfeel; short, dusty finish....fascinating and compelling though I’m glad I can recork this until later, this is delicate and intense stuff, not for consuming a bottle at a time. One of the better dry meads I’ve had.
