notalush (2128), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 I bought this beer up in Canada without first checking the rating - ever since I’ve brought it home, it’s been beckoning me from my closet, daring me to drink it - "come on, you know I’m going to suck, and I’ll quite possibly give you a raging headache, but I’m a new beer rating. Who are you to resist?" - well, I finally caved, mostly because I don’t have anything in the house that I’m not sharing for a tasting - anyway, to the beer - it ain’t terrible, just indistinct - hazy golden beer, with some soapy lace - the aroma is mostly earthy raspberries, but they are very faint, and there isn’t much else happening, so the aroma gives the impression of raspberry puree mixed into a glass of water - a little bit of graininess reminds you it’s beer - the flavor is quite similar - it’s like 1/3 framboise, 1/3 belgian ale, 1/3 water - there is a little bit of tartness and raspberry flesh, some light notes of wheat and grain, and a light belgian phenolic character, all topped off by a thin, watery finish - some alcohol as it warms - a little bit of odd chalkiness and yeast - there may have been a good concept behind this one, but it is not executed well. nuplastikk (509), USA Mar 16, 2008 500ml bottle purchased in Montreal. Pale golden color, with a little cloudiness. Excellent carbonation, with a lively head. This one is severely underrated. Subtle raspberry flavor reminiscent of the Ephemere line. Some sweet, malty characteristics of a Tripel, perfectly balanced by the raspberry. A world class beer. Roli (286), laval, Quebec, Canada Jan 28, 2008 500ml bottle. Big white head, very fizzy. Orange color, spicy and yeasty aroma. Light chemical raspberries flavor.
