25 oz bottle, via jimbowood. Pours a dark brown body with just the slightest bit of light passing thru. Nice creamy foamy brown head that retained as a thin film. Huge intense fruity nose, all plum and to a lesser extent raisons, licorice, and cocoa powder. Just a touch of roast and some coffee. Heavy fruit flavor up front starts things off right, but the finish doesn’t do it for me. Seems kinda husky and rough with too much alcohol apparency. Lingering cocoa nibs and alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and thick with some lingering sticky clinginess on the finish. Nice pleasant soft carbonation. Overall, a little too much of a yeast profile as well. Ok, but it’s not as smooth as it could be. It really comes across as more "ale-y" than "lager-y" in it’s character.

Source: Tasting, Cellar Party

Appearance: dark brown, fine tan head, bits of drippy lace,
Aroma: rich dark chocolate aroma with a touch of dark caramel sweetness, warming brings a dry roastedness,
Flavor: rich chocolate flavor, caramel sweetness pulls in more of the rich chocolate and gives it a milky sweetness, touch of fruity character, light balancing bitterness, chocolate and fruit grow to become the dominant profile,

[1363-20080517] 750mL bottle. Boozy coffee roast malt earth aroma with a fruity figgy "bold" base. Dark dark brown body with red highlights and a quick creamy light yellow tan head. Big fruity dark roast flavour has lots of heavy malt. Full body is sweet. Very roasty.

750, corked and baled. Thanks, after4ever! Pours murky dark brown. with a scant tan head. Soft chocolaty brown sugary nose. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Full sweet chocolate taste with just a hint of smoke. Dry dark chocolate finish.

750, corked and baled. Thanks, Glouglouburp! Pours black with ebony highlights at the edges. Thick creamy medium tan head. Nice chocolatey nose. Big roast under the chocolate. Thick creamy body. Roasty, chocolatey mid-palate. Long roasty sweet finish. Pretty damn amazing, and far more than the sum of its parts.

Poured black with a large tan head. Nice roasty malt aroma with milk choclate notes. The flavor was also roasty with some milk choclate. There was a light tartness to the flavor though. Medium bodied.
