Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 15, 2004 Updated: Oct 8, 2006Clear and shining yellow. Little to no apparent carbonation. Medium sized white head diminishes a bit fast. Aroma is herbal, saazy with big grainy notes. Dry palate, moderately bitter. Could be much more flavorful, lacks a biscuity and/or toasted malt punch and floral characteristics. Nothing developped yet, but there’s definitely skunk potential unfortunately and this is as fresh as can be. Hoping for better as they acquire brewing in big quantities and bottling experience.

Draught pint: This has improved lately, more pronounced Saazy hoppiness make for a drier palate while the malt remains a little shy to my tastes, but crisp and grainy, cleaner character than before. A fine refreshing lager. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 25, 2004 Updated: Aug 20, 2008A little toastiness and is broadened by a few herbal hops...The slick body delivers a slowly rising hop bitterness which has a slight drying effect after a few sips...All is quite subtle and mostly focused on the lean and crunchy cereals...Anyway you look at it, this is a clean, nondescript lager for the party-going crowds... muzzlehatch (4429), Burlington, USA May 19, 2005 341 ml bottle. Very clear honey-amber, still with no bubbles, respectable snow-cap head of moderate duration...honey-jasmine nose is pleasant but like others from this brewer is muted and weak...primarily sweet body is leavened from cloying by a nice dry herbal character that shows up midpalate, with the finish both sweet and lightly bitter. Slight brackish-salty quality late as well, which I actually thing is somewhat appealing. Not too shabby. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 29, 2004 Crisp, toasty malt and spicy, herbal hops in the nose. Clear, deep golden with decent white head that recedes to cover with some minor lacing. Mild toasted malt notes with a fairly strong bitterness that lasts on the tongue. Very strong carbonation. Slightly astringent in the mouth. Nice to see a new local brewery making clean beers although this does seem like a dumbed-down version of the style intended for immediate comfort to the mass-market. Bottle. Lubiere (3408), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 11, 2004 Gold lager with a light malt aroma with some hops. Intense saaz hops , resinous with crisp malt . Extremely fresh. A great lager!
Thanks Chris!
