| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Blown away that I got to try this one, damn. Poured a deep, almost completely black color, the slightest gleaning of brown peeks through the edges. The aroma is a melange of roasted coffee, dried plums and figs, cocoa and even a slight wisp of smoke. The flavor is equally as impressive, with an additional acidic note that is the perfect foil to this beer. Simply one of the best Baltic porters I havetasted yet. Brian2000 (14), Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Deep black in colour with a nice tan-coloured head. Aroma is malt, chocolate and coffee with a tinge of fruitiness. Nice body with a roasted coffee flavour that is followed by a bit of sugar. Alcohol is quite well hidden, but adds a tiny touch of warmth. Excellent brew.
KnN (723), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Roasted malt flavor lets itself be known right away in the aroma. Pours a nice coffee color with a thick tan head tha disappears quickly. The first few sips of this beer were excellent. The roasted maltt and chocolate came to the front and some more subtle almost berry characteristics were at the back, but after half a glass it was all roasted malt and got a little bitter. Maybe it’s just the style of beer. Good stuff though.
