Svart i färgen med ljusbrunt skum. Doftar metalliskt med björnbär, svart vinbär, lakrits, alkohol. Smakar lakrits, rostad malt, gummi, koncentrerad saft av svart vinbär. Lång alkoholig avslutning med lakrits.

Au festival de chambly, robe noire et petite mousse moka, arôme de torréfaction et de houblon, goût de café à la vanille et de houblons. Très bonne mais je préfère l’original!

Bottle. Aroma strawberry fruit leather, lighter than expected, very dark brown, tan head, little hoppy on the back end. The Coffee notes come through once it warms up a little. Very enjoyable, a little weird.

Pours a dark with almost reddish head. Aroma is smokey, cherry. Taste is same, a lot going on. Overall a great beer and a good sipper.

Nice tan head with used motor oil pour. FlVors of smoke and cherry come through in the nose. Very little smoke from the malts. Initial taste is tart cherry into choclate and coffee charry finish. Overall really nice but I would really like to see this aged in or with virgin oak barrels/chips for the price.

Bottle 543/700, with special thanks to Depanneur Peluso for digging it up from their special stock. Pours the typical jet black, just a thin ring of mocha bubbles clinging around the edges of the glass despite an aggressive pour...must have lost some carbonation during the aging. Deep, penetrating aromas of rich chocolaty malts, smoke, damp wood, black cherries, and the characteristic maple/bourbon notes; really complex. Flavor is a delicious marriage between smoky, dark malt and sweet, wooden bourbon profiles. There are a lot of flavors going on all at once so it’s hard to follow the taste through precisely. Finishes with a pleasant and lingering boozy note, with whiskey, maple, and a little coconut coming through. A bit too thin on the palate, not sure if this was the intention or not. I suspect the aging greatly diminished the Citra dry-hopping because it was not discernible amongst the other flavors. Overall, a great variation on one Quebec’s finest brews!

Pours black with a sandy-tan head that lasts all week. Strong, good coffee scent, slight vanilla, toasty. First taste is a kick in the teeth with bittersweet chocolate, cooling to rich coffee, settling on a slightly sharp malty in the end. Would be better if it was a bit more on the bitter side, but then I do love black coffee. I will not hesitate to have again.

Sweet stewed apples aroma graciously welcomes my tired self to. The head disappears in a minutes but starts off with a lovely, creamy brown. The complex notes of the aroma also include a bit of molasses. Sweet beer dominated by molasses and caramel. A hint of anise almost like an after thought. The beer is very smooth on the palate. Very drinkable. The effervescence introduces a lot of depth and enjoyment. Can't believe it's a 10% ABV beer since it feels so drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
