COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

750ml Bottle. Thick black pour with a small foamy tan head that doesn’t last long. Rich, sweet aroma has notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, dates, brandy, caramel and raisins. The flavour is very close to the aroma with the chocolate and dark fruits standing out. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with moderate to low carbonation and a lingering roasty, lightly bitter finish with a hint of warmth from the alcohol. This is definitely in the dessert beer category, rich and sweet, and also very good.

Yeah, it’s probably a five for appearance - a great dark beige head and an amber-black body. The aroma is paint thinner, syrup, leather and cherry. Flavour is roasted and nearly burnt barley backed up by a syrupy malt finish. This stuff was seriously expensive and for the price I paid, it should have been waaaay better. As it stands, it just tastes like a cheap porter.

Excellent. 750 ml for dessert. Rich and full bodied. I mean really full bodied for the style. Nose has a bit too much alcohol for my liking, but he dark fruit and faint whiffs of chocolate permeate the ethanol. Immediate chocolate with a silky smoothness. Round off with a moderate roast and dark fruit finish. Could easily be confused as an Imperial Stout. A real finesse beer. A bit going on, but not quite as complex as the true greats of the Imperial Stout world, but easily the best baltic porter iI have ever had. Classy in every sense of the world. Sir, I challenge you to a duel!

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2013 pours jet black with a creamy brown head, excellent retention and lacing. sweet dark roasted malts all over, real semi-sweet dark chocolate, some smoke, caramelized and burnt figs and plums with grassy hops that support superbly the beer. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, sticky but not cloying. excellent!

Bottle (from Autumn 2010) via a trade with savvy1982. Black pour with a thick tan head that slowly fades. Aromas are smokey, with a huge milk chocolate note. Further notes of raisins and leather. Flavors of raisins, dark fruits, cocoa, tobacco, smokey with a huge dark chocolate presence. Excellent beer.

Bottle from glouglouglouburrrrrp. Dry doughy cocoa with a big molasses and dark chocolate kick. Sweet syrupy dark chocolate cut nicely by bitter cocoa and tangy plum skins. Pretty good.

The pour is almost entirely black. Hints of brown are distinguishable in the body. Head started as 2-3 fingers of tan and ends with almost no head at all. The aroma is a sweet chocolate and coffee roasted complexion. Nice alcohol on the nose mixes well with the other dark aromas. The taste starts as a sweet coffee, chocolate and roasted toffee. Ends with a brutal alcohol burn and espresso bitterness. Very nice taste. Smooth and syruppy mouthfeel with full body. Moderate carbonation and extremely nice lacing. This is truly one of the best beers I have had the joy of tasting in 2010.

Pretty darn good porter. Un autre excellent produit Québecois. Si les 3M SE concentre sur ce genre de bière, on pourrait assister à de bonne bière.

Via trade with Savvy1982. Pours solid black with a rich creamy brown head. Aroma of caramel and mild smoke. Taste is strong, lots of malt body, some smoke again and dark chocolate or coffee bitterness on the finish. Very smooth and creamy.

750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp, pours black with a small tan head. Chocolate, roasted malt and espresso on the nose, with a smoky quality as well. Flavour is extremely well-rounded and rich - typical for this brewer - with chocolate malts, substantial roasted notes, light espresso, and a subtle cherry-like fruitiness. Slightly bitter finish, with the alcohol undetectable. Most excellent.
