COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

750ml bottle. Murky dark brown with light brown head. Light chocolate, some coffee, smoke, malts, lots of metal on the aroma and palate. Decent carbonation, some malt, alcohol, smoke, decent finish.

On tap. Black with a thin beige head with below average retention. Aroma is very sweet with chocolate, alcohol, raisins, vanilla, caramel and a hint of wood. Flavor is similar, but too sweet to enjoy more than a glass. This was much sweeter than I remembered, I shall try the bottled version to compare. Full body, moderate carbonation, liquorous mouthfeel.

750mL corked bottle poured almost black with a small beige head and some spotted lacing. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malt dominate with a hint of smoke. Taste is malty sweet with chocolate and some coffee bitterness. Overall, this is a finely balanced beer which masks the alcohol nicely.

Tasted at Seaport Beer festival. has a winey aroma but is pleasant: grains and cereal and roast. more of the same on the palate. Decent brew.

Near black pour with a mocha head. Smoke, licorice, anise, earth with a vinous quality on the nose. Smoke, licorice and earth dominate the palate with a slightly boozy burn in the finish.

Ebony body with a foamy olive-colored head. Sublime complex aromas of plum, caramel, smoke, molasses and chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. High slicky taste of burnt malt, caramel, leather, smoke and chocolate. AYAYAYE. Impressive.

Poured from 750ml bottle into chalice glass. Deep black with a tan-brown hue. Little head, and any is lost quite quickly. Aroma is like a fortified wine, rich dark fruits, liquorice, chocolate, sweetness and alcohol. Taste is potent and complex with bit hits of molasses, dark sweet fruits, coffee and some bitter chocolate. Despite the hugeness it is easy on the mouth, low to medium carbonation, a long lingering finish. Very warming. An excellent better than maybe is a tiny bit undone by its own hugeness causing slight unbalanced taste. Nonetheless…yum and moreish!

Bottle thanks to Dany. Pours black. Tan head. Nose/taste of mocha pie, deep roasted chocolate, vanilla and roast coffee. Medium body. Sweet and sticky mouth feel. Lots of cocoa in finish.

Pours black with deep red and brown glimpsed when held up to the light. Large and lively, but tight head. Perfectly roasted malts in the taste, nothing bitter or burnt. Leaves a nice aftertaste too. Its hard not to give this top marks in every category. Great great porter.

Pours black with a big mocha head. Aroma is of rich chocolate scents and coffee along with some roasted grain malts and a little liquorice. Taste is somewhat overly sweet with not much bitterness at all really. Full body, thick on the palate and soft carbonation. Overall a nice, maybe overpowering porter.
