COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and youíll enjoy itís subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

Aroma is vinious with chocolate, toffee and cherries. Pours black with a caramel coloured head. Flavour is a bit smoked with chocolate, coffee, toffee and vinious with a hint of cherries. Nice and full palate with a long chocolaty aftertaste. High carbonation.

Bottle. [thanks, cfrancis]
Pour is completely black with a fine, staying, frothy, beige head. Slightly fizzy. Aroma has good malty tartness, blackberries, roasted malts, dark chocolate, figs, raisins and liqourice. Highish carbonation, lively, creamy yet elegantly easy mouthfeel. Flavour is very complex. Lots of dark chocolate throughout. Raisins, some roasted malts and quite a firm malty astringent tartness. Blackberries, light coffee. Very long, lingering, warming and light malty bitter aftertaste. This is quite a great example of the style where malts are used for both sweetness, alcohol, bitterness and tartness. Great!

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2010 2009 bottle from Alain at Peluso, whom I paid for it. Very dark blackish brown, brown cap is denser than Moose from Archie comics. Aroma is herbal sweet and fruit. Tastes grapey. chocolatey, and has an earthy herbal presence.Has a bit of roast, and some restrained bitterness. itís more just another sweet fruity Quebec beer than it is a real Baltic Porter, to be quite honest. But itís well-made. ** update ** the next dat this is drinking just as well and Iím getting a little wild blueberry in the flavors, nice Up the flavors .1 despite the predominant Quebec sweetness - still a sexy beer.

astoundingly beautiful beer. smooth, rich, silken chocolate, with the merest heat belaying the 10% alc. Long, warm, rich, mouthfilling finish. Astoundingly clean, and smooth. Super super beer.

750mL bottle from Marche Omni. Pours totally opaque black with a large mocha head. Aroma is very much in line with an Imperial Stout, loads of dark fruity esters and roasted malts. Awesome. Flavour is even better, lots of bitter roast but balanced super well with rich sweet chocolate. Raisins, red grapes, vanilla, caramel, subtle hint of smoke. Velvety smooth as well, very little hint of the alcohol. Reminds me of a milk stout, thereís almost a lactic sweetness here that I really enjoy. Minor dryness in the finish from the yeast. Holy crap this stuff is tasty, wish I bought more. This brewery is freaking amazing.

C&C 750 mL bottle shared by alexsdad06 at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a medium dark head. Good head retention and lacing. Tastes of chocolate, nutty notes, caramel and faint cherry notes. Medium bodied. Very nice.

A very fine brew. Pours black with moderate carbonation which dissipates quickly. chocolate and slight smokiness on the nose. Can really taste the roastiness of the malts. Chocolate and slight whiskey/alcohol taste. and medium mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden. Is a good combination of an easy drinking beer with great taste and complexity. Very good

750ml bottle thanks to Hopscotch. Big thanks for bringing this absolutely STUNNING beer. I knew little about this brewery and I was just blown away by this beer. Nose is rich with malt, huge fruity notes of plum and raisin with chocolate and caramel. Pours a near black with a small long lasting light tan head. Super clean flavor throughout with an almost fudgelike chocolate note and tons of dark fruit flavor. Finishes nutty. As it warms subtle smoke and leather become apparent. Complex as hell this beer. One of the best lagered beers I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic!
