4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - APR 8, 2011
Corked bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, Automne 2010 Very dark color, close to black, but with dark tobacco shades on the side; very small head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee, with an interesting leather wrapping, and some wood. Strong body, the mouthfeel is a bit oily, and the carbonation is quite low; perfect blend of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, supported by the sweetness level that I like, with a balanced bitter final; some traces of tobacco, liquorice, alcohol, roasted nuts. A great beer!

Bottle, 10%. Dry roasted aroma, not too interesting. Almost totally black colour, small brown head. The flavour is quite sweet, has some American grassy hops. Some sweet liquorice. The alcohol is not very apparent in the flavour, but it helps to balance the sweetness.
