COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

Hot damn. Draft at Churchkey in DC. Pours dark brown without much of any head. Nose of wood, mild smoke, some fruit and light cherry notes, and some cinnamon. Mild shag tobacco. Cocoa. Taste starts off sweet but ends with a nice bitterness. I repeat: hot damn.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown, quasi black colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Rich and intense dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, a roasty-herbal-spicy touch, even cautious hints of smoke. Taste is rather different: moderately sweet dark malty, chocolately, notes of dark cherries, cherry liquor, fruit in rum, a dry woody note and some bitter hop arrange for counterbalance; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily texture, sticky palate. Astonishing discrepancy between aroma and taste; I wouldn’t mind to find more of those roasty and spicy flavours in taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is bready malt and plums. Medium mouthfeel with dark fruits, toast, with lingering dry finish. Good.

Pours very dark brown with a one finger off white head. Almost zero lacing left behind. Aromas of dark chocolate, malts, and a promise of something a bit sweet. On the palate it has chocolatey malts up front, but on the back end there is a strong suggestion of molasses and caramel, with a definite hint of honey-like sweetness on the swallow. First beer for me from this brewery and these guys are doing it right.

Black pour with an orange hue and thin off white head ... aroma of coffee, vanilla, smoke and dark chocolate/roasted malts .... taste is sweet and bitter with some cherry smoked malts but mostly vanilla, dark chocolate and roasted malts ..... abv is a little evident and it has a very nice bitter bite ..... full bodied brew and everything it was advertised
