4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Stong aroma of caramel with a hint of coffee. Heavy sweetness. Full body with a bit of an oily texture. Top notch beer from one of the great breweries in the country.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pours a beautiful muddy brown with plenty of beige head. Aroma of fermented malts mashed in with grass and swampwater. Flavour is heavy barley syrup mixed with bière de garde grass and a huge alcoholic finish. Really, who are they kidding - this stuff has "malt liquor" written all over it but they’ve added a few fancy French accents to make people think it’s something else, aside from major suckage. Dudes, I ain’t fooled.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2010 750 ml bottle. Dark brown color with brown head. Aroma of caramalised malts and fruits. Taste is mainly dark fruits, caramel and cacao. The alcohol presence is not well hidden, yet it is very sweet and easy to drink. Got to say I expected a little bit more complexity. Still, its a good one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2009 Vintage. Jotted down this: deep brown, clear with a small medium tan head, goes right to a skim. Smell: fairly sweet and lots of caramel, powdery chocolate, prunes and dark fruit. Taste-o: faint alcohol if any, nice spice, fruit cake, nougat and a bit of brown sugar. Seemed a bit only but no alcohol and a nice finish made this a lot better than I thought it would be.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 75cl from mondial de la bière. A dark beer with nice brownish head. Smell has nice wheat notes as well as caramel like smell. Aroma is intense on roasted malt, wheat, caramel, alcohol is present and do heat quickly. This syrupy beer is very nice and complex, on fruit like dry grapes, licorice, prune, also near to weizeneisbock. Finish remains chocolate and dark malt notes with dry prune and cherry aftertaste. A well done beer.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2012 Wheat, but moreover ripened fruits, dark fruits. Fine caramels. Pours dark brown, almost black. Medium to heavy body. Good head and retention. Much more than respectable weizenbock...!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Superb dark beer with a wonderful complexity!
To my experience, left alone for two years in a dark cool place, really make its caracteristics come out! It becomes almost like a porto, heavenly!
Unaged, its a complex mix between macerated fruits, slighly nutty aroma and a hint of herbs

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, shared with Rockley. Pours a deep hazy brown with golden highlights and a thick creamy light golden head that shows eternal retention. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar and dark fruits. Flavours of creme brulee, fig paste, sugar bread. Silky, rich mouthfeel. Loved this!
