2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I don’t understand what other reviewers are saying about tasting complex flavours. All I can taste is sugar. Very sweet wheat bock, nothing like a German wheat bock. Well maybe like a German wheat bock if you added a couple of spoons of sugar to each glass.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. A beastly brew for sure. Pours a murky brown color with a medium brown head. The aroma is massive; sweet brown sugars, malts and soem fruit just jump out at you- warning that this will get you smashed. The flavor is just as robust; warm bordering on hot, brown sugars, prunes, a heavy sweet malt. A strong brew for the Quebec winters for sure. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(750ml bottle) Purchased at Cook Street Liquor Store for $13.20. Pours a lofty, beige head atop a strong red-brown body. Right of the bat - sniff, sniff - this has a lot of the aroma of Trois Pistoles: plum, smooth brandy and vanilla. Great ruby plums swirl the palate, the heightened alcohol (10.3%) is less apparent than that of Trois Pistoles (9%). Some earthy undertones. A wonderful, wonderful beer. Unfortunately its twice the price of Trois Pistoles here in British Columbia ($5.99) or I’d be alternating between the two regularly.

Stong aroma of caramel with a hint of coffee. Heavy sweetness. Full body with a bit of an oily texture. Top notch beer from one of the great breweries in the country.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pours a beautiful muddy brown with plenty of beige head. Aroma of fermented malts mashed in with grass and swampwater. Flavour is heavy barley syrup mixed with bière de garde grass and a huge alcoholic finish. Really, who are they kidding - this stuff has "malt liquor" written all over it but they’ve added a few fancy French accents to make people think it’s something else, aside from major suckage. Dudes, I ain’t fooled.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2010 750 ml bottle. Dark brown color with brown head. Aroma of caramalised malts and fruits. Taste is mainly dark fruits, caramel and cacao. The alcohol presence is not well hidden, yet it is very sweet and easy to drink. Got to say I expected a little bit more complexity. Still, its a good one.
