3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazed golden amber gose with a thin off white head. In aroma, an intense lactic malt with light funk, a bit musty. In mouth, a ligthly buttery and lactic beer with coriander, epsom salts, very nice. On tap at Bieres et Saveurs 2012, Sept 1 2012.

Hazy pale straw colour with a white head. The nose is tart and lactic with some notes of lemon and lime. A sort of soft sweetness and a bit of lemon oil flavour. Some nice light fruitiness along with a touch of pepper. There is a little bit of saltiness on the finish that I enjoy. Has a bit of savoury character.

Very decent gose, my lateral gose tasting. Light, lemony, the salt is unobtrusive here making it a little like a summer saison. Light yellow bodied.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shortlived, very scant head despite hefty carbonation in a dull-hazy orangeish ochre beer. Spicy-sourish nose. Lactic acid, hint at acetic, coriander (mild), old grains or cookies, bit mineral (suggestion?), sourish celery. Coriander, again something vegetal not unlike celery or celeriac. Mineral and acidity not only lactic, but also much hinting at carbonic acid. Despite the acidic character, there is a hint of (vegetable?) sugar in the background. Feels indeed very carbonated; light bodied stretching to medium, wheat slickness. Weird - as expected. Reasonbly different from the German examples tried so far. A rare example of how even coriander can be used succesfully in a good beer. Many thanks to Delirium Claude and his crew!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line :
A dash of salt leaks onto this Gose’s sour finish, as lacto funk and low carbonation contribute to the sensation of otherworldliness.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-.A ring of foam circles the hazy amber.
-This is supremely drinkable, when you are used to the acidic character of the style, that is.
-The flavor profile is quite reminiscent of traditional Goses, save for the acidity which might be a tad higher.
-Salt doesn’t appear too prominently in the flavor profile, which is fine by me.
On cask at Bières et Saveurs festival in Chambly and at Oktoberfest de Repentigny.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2013 2013-09-14. Hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma is pretty interesting, sort of fruity character that I can’t place, sort of white grape meets lychee and melon, but none of those really fit. Notes of cucumber skins. Flavour is similarly fruity, mildly sour throughout, notes of salted cucumber slices? Average bodied palate, soft effervescent carbonation. 3+ Nice but pretty unusual, even for a gose! 7/4/7/3/15 3.6 On tap at Volo Funk Night 2013, Toronto
2013-06-01. Hazy dark pastel yellow Body small white head. 3+ Aroma is a bit odd, tangy fruity character, light funk. 6++ Flavour is interesting. Fruity, sort of grapefruit like character. Pale malt, light sourness throughout. Light pleasant tangy character in the finish. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Enjoyable. 7/3/7/3/15 3.5 On tap at Mondial de la Biere 2013 as "Gosebier", Montreal

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Saint Bock. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Not much going on on the nose, faint fruitiness, a touch of malt. Medium bodied, very light sweetness at the beginning but then a nice sour tartness picks up and takes over. Tart and crisp, very nice amount of salt in here, almost oily at times, very nice mouthfeel. Luscious tartness, a bit of lemon, bright lively acid. Finishes up with a bit more salinity, and lingering tart acid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottle shared with blankboy at Volo. Cloudy orange-gold with a small diminishing off-white head. Aroma - lovely, sour mash grain, no alcohol, salty and funky, definitely lactic with some green fruit, maybe apricot. Taste follows but saltier and even better. Solid body, light acidity and carbonation, tart salty finish. So good.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, at Brothers Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Medium golden body, average white head. Aroma is lemony in a shandy-ish kind of way, and frankly did not excite me. The palate is a different story however. The lemon is here, but with a lactic tartness and a bit of lime rind before the salty finish seals the deal. Really tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle [341ml] shared with HogTownHarry at Volo. Pours a cloudy copper-gold with a small lasting frothy white head. Interesting aroma is fruity and salty along with some sourness and herbs. Citrusy flavour, a bit sour, along with herbs & spices and yes, some salt. Lots of flavour for 3.8%. Average bodied. Like I said, it’s certainly an interesting beer and it’s also very good.
