Noire peu mousseuse.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, cherry with chocolate, woody notes, vanilla, beautiful. In mouth, a nice smooth fruity chocolate malt with light fruity acidity, light Brett and wood, very nice. On tap at Oktoberfest des Québécois 2012, Sept. 8 2012. CASK.

My Bottom Line :
Chocolate and roasted malts seamlessly move into cherry fruitiness and brettanomyces wilderness in this hot dessert.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A thin ring of foam circles the darkness.
-Alcohol warmth furthers the black forest cake illusion.
-The body is leaner than expected, which is great.
-Pine-y brettanomyces and oak barrel get along wonderfully.
-Carbonation is a tad too low for my liking in this type of dessert brew.
-This is like a cousin of Brouhaha’s Forêt Noire (that’s a good thing).

On cask at Oktoberfest de Repentigny.

Drank (on cask) at the 2012 Oktoberfest des Québecois on September 9. Black, no head. Aroma of malted barley, lots of alcohol and cherry juices. This is the same taste as their original Baltic Porter, but very well blended with cherries, alcohol is not very present juicy aftertaste. Candy alcohol!
