beermoose (25), Blainville, Quebec, Canada Nov 16, 2004 I usualy don’t like Hemp beers. This one really pleased me. Nicely bitter with a smokey and caramel taste to it. Kowaq (5), Montréal, Quebec, Canada does not count Nov 24, 2004 Belle bière dont la mousse blanc crème demeure tout au long de la dégustation. Ah! La folle du roi! Douce folie. Très étonnante. danmalleck (25), Canada Nov 22, 2006 This is better than I expected. Good colour, not much of a nose, decent lacing, though not too thick on the glass. I like the roastiness of this beer. Matly, almost peaty on the tongue. Mild finish. I was surprised. I wouldn’t rush out to buy it, but if it is foisted in your hand, don’t be afraid! pootzboy (900), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Dec 15, 2005 Bottle: Clouded cola color with a small but lasting cap that laces the glass well. nice spicey-herbal-burnt treacle aroma. Prickley mouth feel that turns slick. Medium body. Flavor is spicey-herbal medicinal up front then this totally collapses mid gulp as some wonderful sorghum and cinnamon toast malts flood the palate. Finish starts to go bitter with medicial herbs overpowering the sweet bready malts....extremely drinkable! This is a very good hemp beer. We usually see hemp added to sharper, lighter ale recipies but this mellow, bready, sweet, almost lager-like red ale, with the hemp adding spice and bittering, makes for a great drinking specialty beer. I got turned onto hemp beers 2 summers ago and I have to say this is the best one I’ve tasted so far where all the ingredients just meld into a wonderful flavor profile that simply works well. I want more!!
